Gehlot govt to provide `444 cr for barbed wire fencing on agri fields

Jaipur: The Gehlot government has decided to provide Rs 444.40 crore to 1 lakh farmers for putting up barbed wire fences to protect crops from stray animals.

According to an official statement on Saturday, CM Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to construct a total of 40 million meters of barbed wire fencing. He has also approved reducing the minimum limit for fencing to 0.50 hectares due to the small size of the holdings of the farmers belonging to Scheduled Tribe communities.

To develop sprinkler irrigation facility, various civil and mechanical works will be done at a cost of Rs 89.81 cr. Jaipur: CM Gehlot has approved the proposal to set up additional registration desks in all full-time subregistrar offices in the state. There are 114 full-time subregistrar offices in the state, each with one registration desk. In these, an additional desk will be set up in 35 sub-registrar offices with an annual registration of more than 10,000. There are a total of 585 sub-registrar offices in the state.

Dungarpur: A sudden fire broke out in the NICU of Dungarpur Medical College Hosp late Saturday evening. As soon as the fire was detected, all the 12 children admitted in NICU were taken out & no one was hurt. But the NICU equipment got burnt due to the fire on third floor. The fire could be controlled with the help of the 3 fire brigade tenders. Flames started rising from the ward. The relatives present in the ward shouted. The staff first started taking out the newborn children.
