New Delhi/ Ajmer: The Supreme Court has stayed an order of the Rajasthan High Court granting bail to a person who is accused of looting and murdering an elderly couple in Ajmer.

The bench of Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice BM Trivedi ordered to send the accused Sumer Singh back to jail. The petitioner Dinesh Chauhan told the court that the accused is threatening the petitioner and family after getting bail from the HC.

The learned advocate on behalf of the Petitioner, Aditya Jain, Neha Gyamlani and Bhavya Golecha apprised the court about the recovery of murder weapon, stolen jewellery and ornaments, bloodstained clothes and broken mobile phone of the deceased from the accused which totally points out towards the guilt of the accused.

Executive Chairman of the National Legal Service Authority Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that the houses in the open jail have tin roofs.

First India Bureau Hanumangarh: An FIR has been filed against two suspected members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang for allegedly threatening two BJP councillors and one other person in Hanumangarh and demanding ransom of Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1 crore. Police informed the BJP councillors are associated with liquor business.

They were speaking during the visit to Sanganer open prison here.

Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal said that work is being done to bring the prisoners into the mainstream.

Police informed the accused has been identified as Lakshman Ram (21), a resident of Bhojasar in Jodhpur district.

“The accused created a fake profile of IAS Pari Vishnoi and then shared her photos and posts on social media.

The victim’s mother Sushila Vishnoi had filed an FIR on January 17 in Kotwali Police Station of Nagaur. Based on technical inputs, the accused Lakshman Ram was arrested from Jodhpur and is being interrogated,” police added.

“The nephew used to frequently visit his maternal aunt’s home.

On January 9, the accused came to the victim’s house when her husband was away. He thrashed the woman and then raped her. Later, she narrated the incident to her husband, following which, an FIR was filed in Sanganer Sadar Police Station,” said Sub-Inspector Ashutosh Singh. The case has been registered and is being investigated.

Post notice, JDA to bulldoze illegal liquor factory, godowns

Jaipur: In a crackdown against illegal liquor factories and godowns, JDA’s enforcement squad gave legal notice to Vaishno Farm Village Gawar Brahmanan and Triveni Nagar Bada Padampura Shivdaspura on Saturday for constructing illegal liquor godowns. According to the notice, they were asked to remove illegal construction by 5 pm on Saturday.
