Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday said Nana Kate will be its candidate for the upcoming bypoll to Chinchwad Assembly seat in Pune district. The announcement comes days after Chief Minister Aghadi along with the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena) to honour the political tradition in the state to ensure unopposed bypolls to seats falling vacant due to the death of sitting lawmakers.

The bypolls to Pune's Chinchwad and Kasba Peth constituencies, scheduled for February 26, have been necessitated due to the death of sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs

Worli meet draws flak from Thackeray

Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting on Tuesday in Worli and received flak from Yuva Sena chief MLA Aaditya Thackeray, who verbally attacked both the leaders over the same. Aaditya expressed his belief that no matter how many leaders roam the streets of Worli, victory will be his.

On the second day of Aaditya Thackeray’s Samvad Yatra, while addressing a meeting held at Chandori, Nashik he said, “I don’t want to have big meetings, I want to have small meetings like this. If large meetings are held, people cannot go. When the Chief Minister holds a meeting, boxes are distributed, but the chairs are empty.”
