BJP protests against AAP, police detain protestors

New Delhi (ANI): BJP workers protest against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government on Friday in Delhi ahead of the bail plea hearing of former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the liquor policy case. They also put up posters naming Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Former minister Satyendar Jain, who is currently in Tihar Jail in a money laundering case.

Manish Sisodia was brought to Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in connection with alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped liquor policy.

New Delhi (PTI): Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said as chairperson of a parliamentary committee, he was not consulted at all over the recent appointments of personal attached with committees under the ambit of the Rajya Secretariat.

New Delhi PTI: The Congress on Friday promised to extend government benefits to tenant farmers in Telangana, besides setting up land tribunals in the state. Speaking to reporters near Karimnagar, AICC General Secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said about 15 lakh tenant farmers in the state are not getting government benefits like crop insurance. “Congress says that all government programmes be implemented for tenant farmers also,” he told the media. Ramesh, who listed out five principles for the benefit of farmers, said land tribunals would be set up in all 33 districts of the state. Congress would also undertake land survey in the state in two years if it comes to power.

U’khand seeks `2000 crore rehabilitation package

Dehradun (ANI): The Uttarakhand government has sought an economic package of Rs 2000 crore from Central Government for subsidence-affected areas in Joshimath & rehabilitation of the affected people, said Secretary to CM R Meenakshi Sundaram.

The Enforcement Directorate has also moved the court seeking Sisodia’s custody for 10 days.

New Delhi (ANI): Reacting to Delhi’s former minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest, jailed businessman Sukesh Chandrashekhar on Friday said that the next arrest will be of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. “Truth has prevailed, and next will be Arvind Kejriwal,” Sukesh said. He was presented before a Delhi court in a money laundering case today.

New Delhi (ANI): Reacting to Delhi former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari asserted that Delhi Chief Minister would also meet the same fate. “I can clearly foresee that in future, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would meet the same fate as jailed ministers Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. You can cheat a human being, but you can’t cheat God. The way Delhi’s treasury has been looted, I don’t think any criminal or corrupt person will be able to escape,” Manoj Tiwari said.
