Thane: Chief Minister

Eknath Shinde on Friday expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi “will break all records” and that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would retain power with a thumping majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Shinde interacted with the press after attending the live screening of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event addressed by PM Modi.

Replying to a question on the results of a recent political survey on next Lok Sabha polls, he said, “In the next general elections, PM Modi will break all records and the NDA will return to power with a thumping majority.”

According to a survey by leading media house India Today, if the elections are held today, the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to win 284 seats, Congress 68 and others 191 seats. While still a decent majority, this would be a slight drop in numbers for the BJP, which walked away with 303 seats in the last election.
