In the spirit of the Kentucky Derby 2023 and “Thurby,” Tom Leach will be the featured speaker at a Signature Club luncheon, sharing his breakdown of the 149th Kentucky Derby Field, benefiting the Hearing and Speech Center. StreetFest celebrates streets as shared, public spaces. The event, sponsored by the Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, is modeled on the Second Sunday events that took place a decade ago. The event promotes health and wellness. Nearly 200 people attended the 2022 event, 9 a.m – noon, Oliver Lewis Way between High St. and South Broadway.

Teatime with Sleeping Beauty at The Kentucky Castle! Join us for an unforgettable Tea in the Grand
The Lexington Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association will host the Cool Cars and Cruisers Car Show at NorthEast Christian Church. Cars, motorcycles, trucks —anything cool with a motor is welcome. Free to the public to attend, $20.00 registration fee per vehicle. There will be food, music from the Iceman, vendors and more!! Trophy presentation will begin at 1:30.

Mayfest Arts Fair presented by Central Bank returns to Gratz Park on May 13th and 14th! Mayfest is a juried art fair with a focus on a casual, familyfriendly atmosphere. Included are up to 100 Artist Vendors, performances by musicians, dancers, strolling performers, food concession vendors, and family activities. Attendance at the two-day event averages 25,000.

Chenault Vineyards is hosting Free Yoga at The Point beginning at 6 pm. Parking by the Paige Hill Reception Hall. Stick around the Welcome Center afterwards for wine, charcuterie, and boozy cupcakes!

Celebrate Lexington’s official “birthday” at the annual Founders’ Day celebration at McConnell Springs, and experience frontier life of 1775 for yourself. Concessions are available onsite with proceeds benefiting McConnell Springs programs.
Activities for the day include:
• Traditional live music and dance;
• Guided tours of the park’s 27 acres of woodland trails;
• Colonial crafts such as woodworking, quilt making, weaving and gun-smithing;
• Exhibits of colonial tools and Indian artifacts;
• Demonstrations of pioneer cooking and blacksmithing;
• A special frontier living history area around the primitive log cabin; and meadow.
• Children’s activities to include bow & arrow, tomahawk throw, pioneer kids toys and games. This free event will be held rain or shine. Sunscreen, rain gear and insect repellent may be needed. Visitors taking guided tours are encouraged to wear hiking shoes.
