WELCOME TO THE SPRING 2015 FIRST NATIONAL WANAKA PROPERTY GUIDE 2015 has been a solid year for real estate sales in the Wanaka area. Up until 31 August 2015, $275m worth of property has been sold, according to the Real Estate Institute’s statistics. Compare this to the 2014 total of $282m. If we continue at the same rate, 2015 is easily going to exceed this figure. Around Wanaka, high numbers of section sales continue with first home buyers and investors getting into the market. At the lower end of the market, this is likely to be a reflection of the shortage of houses available. Interest rates continue to be attractive, affording extra security for future planning. Wanaka’s breathtaking scenery and lifestyle make it a very special place to live, work and play. It may be a fairly small town but it’s bursting with character! Whether you want to go skiing, play a game of golf, go wine tasting at a local vineyard, or perhaps try mountain biking around the lake, Wanaka has something for everyone. The same goes for properties… Maybe you’re a first time buyer? Or perhaps you’re looking for your next home? Whatever you’re thinking, I’m sure our salespeople will be able to locate it for you.

LAKE WANAKA IN SPRING There’s a buzz in the air as temperatures rise and the last of the snow melts slowly away from the mountain tops. Skis are put away and as the days lengthen it’s time to pump up the tyres on your bike, check out the engines on your boat and get out your walking shoes to hit one of the tracks and trails around the Lake Wanaka region. Mt Aspiring National Park beckons — a wonderful mixture of remote wilderness, high mountains and beautiful river valleys. It’s a walker’s paradise and a must for mountaineers, hunters and fishermen.

A BEAUTIFUL WAY OF LIFE There is nothing left to want in this stunning Queensberry property. Verandas wrap around both north-facing sides to enjoy the sun at any time of day all winter long. In the summertime a separate area opens for an indoor-outdoor summer kitchen, sheltered from the wind and heat of the sun, and complete with a BBQ/range hood, fridge and even a log burner. If the three-bay garage doesn't provide enough room for your toys, the huge 200 sqm shed should suffice. The land itself is to be envied, scattered with lichen-clad natural boulders, complete with a hen house, vege gardens, glasshouse, and hideaway spa area. A lower paddock of Lucerne can provide extra income, and the entire property on the north side of the road is fully rabbit fenced.
