WELCOME TO THE WINTER 2015 FIRST NATIONAL WANAKA PROPERTY GUIDE 2015 has so far been a boom year for the Wanaka property market. The year started well and a marked increase in sales continues, well beyond our normal busy period. Proof of this is the chart you will find in the centre of this book tracking sales over the past five years. With the volume of sales comes an increased demand for listings, so if you’re thinking of selling, there is no time like the present. Buyers outnumber vendors in this market— making now an excellent time to sell. Meanwhile, high numbers of section sales, with buyers looking to build as an alternative to finding suitable properties, promise an influx of work for tradespeople. In May alone there were 33 sections sold in the Upper Clutha area; 26 of these in Wanaka. If you’ve been to Peninsula Bay recently you will have noticed a major change in the landscape, with many new builds started.
