“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” ~ Luke 10:1-2 ~ What a blessing last week was. The Harvest America Crusade 2017 was all that we prayed that it would be and so much more! Jesus still sends us out to preach good news. He still sends His Spirit before us and with us. He still calls on us to pray for workers. He still has compassion that leads to the salvation of thousands upon thousands — and aren’t you glad He does? I know I am! Last Sunday night saw 38,000 people from across Arizona filling the University of Phoenix Stadium — most staying there for over six hours. After great, uplifting worship, Pastor Greg Laurie shared a simple Gospel message — and 2,904 people made a first time decision for Jesus Christ. (The picture above shows many of those on the stadium floor making that decision.) Added to those decisions were people watching on simulcast who also trusted Christ as Savior. Added to those were people who were reached by university and seminary students going door to door across the valley. In total, over 3,500 people so far have made life changing, first time decisions for Jesus — and many of you had a part in that happening! However, now we are in a new week. The fields are still ripe. Jesus is still sending out laborers. This week is “Camp Week” here at FSBCPV. That means kids are headed to Prescott Pines and Youth are headed to Glorietta. Let’s pray that as many hear the Good News, their lives will also be changed for eternity. Blessings on your week as you pray for — and watch for — and then take advantage of opportunities to engage in Gospel conversations with those around you. Pastor Terrell P.S. Lest we forget, this Sunday is Father’s Day. I know, it’s not all that Mother’s Day is — but let’s not let it just slip by. After all — when our lives have been changed by the Gospel of Christ — we have a Heavenly Father who has loved us from eternity past — who won’t mess up — and who just won’t let us go.
It is camp time! Please pray for those of us going to Glorieta that God will make himself real to us. Also, please pray for a safe journey as Mindi and I will be driving vans this year.
Looking ahead to next month, we are planning a trip to the lava tubes outside of Flagstaff. The date has not been set yet, but if you haven't been and want to go with us, let me know. Thank you church family again for helping our students to pay for a week at camp that will change their lives forever. In Christ, Don Gagnon Minister to Youth
