“‘I know that Messiah’ (called Christ) ‘is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.’” ~ John 4:25 ~ Christmas! Such a great time of the year. So much to do. So many places to be. So many people to serve. So many stories to be told. And so we find ourselves right in the middle of the Christmas season. As I write this afternoon from my office at church, the Mission trailer is loaded up with over 1,000 pounds of food — loads of clothes and toys — and lots of other miscellaneous stuff — all of which will be either cooked and served or given away at the Happy Birthday Jesus Party this Saturday (Dec 17 th) at First Southern Baptist Church of Klagetoh on the Navajo Nation. At least 14 of our members will be traveling up for this one day event. Expect great stories to be told of God working and lives being changed — theirs and ours. Next week will see the last day of school before the break at Granville Elementary School here in Prescott Valley. We are being allowed to meet with interested parents that morning to share the benefits of the new after-school Good News Bible Club we will be sponsoring beginning mid-January. What an opportunity! We will even be able to share with the parents about ministries going on here at FSBCPV that may be of interest to them. Talk about getting to tell the story of the coming of Jesus Messiah! Expect many stories to be told of children — and parents — coming to know the Messiah personally in 2017. Also beginning in mid-January, we will partner with the Yavapai Baptist Association and a couple of other local Southern Baptist Churches to begin English as a Second Language classes (ESL) for adults. Leaders have been trained by the North American Mission Board and will be using the Bible as the text book. Once again, our school district here in Prescott Valley

will be assisting by distributing informational flyers to parents who will benefit. One goal is to see a Southern Baptist Hispanic Church planted here in Prescott Valley. Expect the story of the Messiah to be told here across many cultures and languages! Two offerings. Our First Impressions Project and our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions are well under way. With a goal of $75,000 for First Impressions over eighteen months, we are about to reach that total way ahead of schedule. With a goal of $6,500 for World Mission in six weeks, we are over two-thirds of the way there in just two weeks! Both offerings are each less than $2,000 from reaching their goals. Wouldn’t it be great to reach both within the next few weeks and continue beyond the hoped for? Expect the story of Messiah to be proclaimed here to more people and world-wide to countless people because of these two offering!

Christmas Eve here at FSBCPV — The Story of Christmas will be shared through Scripture and music. It will be a great time to prepare our hearts for Christmas morning. Now is the ideal time to invite your families, friends, co-workers and neighbors to attend. 6 p.m. for a special time of reflection and inspiration. Expect the story to impact your Christmas! Christmas Sunday morning. ONE SAVIOR — ONE CHURCH — ONE SERVICE! 10:30 a.m. for our Christmas Worship Experience. Celebrating the coming of Jesus Messiah — all together in one large service. Kids, teens, adults — all joining our hearts and voices together in ONE HEART and ONE VOICE to praise the King. Expect the story to be told of why Jesus had to come to that manger 2,000 years ago. Expect that story to transform lives! By the way, the truth of the story of Jesus Messiah as told in John chapter 4 is that the woman at the well was actually talking to Jesus Messiah — and she didn’t even know it! She was about to miss all that Jesus had in store for her life. She just needed to open the eyes of her faith to see and believe. Jesus had to tell her in the next verse that He was the Messiah she was hoping for. Please don’t go through this season of Christmas and miss the Messiah. Don’t let the business of your life get in the way. Don’t let the disappointments you experience jade your perceptions of who Jesus is and what He can and will do for you today. Expect the story to make you brand new in Him. Blessings on your week as you join with us in the great expectation of the coming of Jesus Messiah. He really does change everything!

Pastor Terrell P.S. This Sunday morning, we will begin a new, short sermon series I am calling “Christmas in a Word”. This week – part 1. Come discover what this week’s word is.

We will have all kinds of goodies to put in them and many people make for a fun-filled short evening. Those that come to our Christmas Eve service appreciate the treats! Thank you. Pastor Frank

Merry Christmas church family! This is my favorite time of year, a time to remember why Christianity is what it is and how it is so unique from any other belief system in the world. Without the birth of Jesus, Christianity is just another world religion. Jesus was able to come into the world and provide a connection between God and man through His life. It is because Jesus stepped into a depraved and sinful world that we can call on Him to save us, forgive us, and to provide the ability for a personal relationship with God Himself. It is this relationship that is so attractive to those that have no belief system and who are searching for meaning, purpose and hope, as well as answers to life’s problems. Jesus is able to mend lives, forgive the worst sin, to repair relationships and to help each of us to begin anew every day. My prayer is that you will remember this good news every day that God gives you as His present and will prayerfully consider how to share this all important message with those around you during this holiday season and into the new year. You all know someone who needs to hear about God’s love and peace, so I encourage each of you to ask God to show you who you need to share this wonderful message with. Never forget that Jesus is THE reason for the season! On another note, I want to give a quick thank you to the youth for helping in the Klagetoh food drive. As we look to the rest of the month, students remember that we are having our Christmas party and white elephant gift exchange on the 21st from 6-8. Please invite your friends and bring a slightly used gift or spend no more than $5 for a gift. We will have pizza and drinks. Come and have a good time with us! Thank you all, Don Gagnon Minister to youth.
