“We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia… For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord.” ~ 2 Corinthians 8:1, 3 (ESV) ~
To join the team please mark your connection card or call the church office at (928) 772-7218.
Here’s a philosophical question for you - is it ever ok for a Christian to be proud? Seems like a simple answer would suffice. God does say in His word…

“… Pride and arrogance and the way of evil… I hate.” ~ Proverbs 8:13 (ESV) ~ Seems simple, right? Don’t be prideful - God hates that! Yet in 2 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul shares that it would be ok for the believers in Corinth to take pride in his work (2 Cor 5:12), and he told them that he had pride in these believers as well (2 Cor 7:24). Maybe there is a proper way to show pride after all! In the passage at the top of the page, Paul is showing pride for the church in Macedonia. Why? They had gone above and beyond in generosity to support other believers whose church was hurting. They did this through their financial support.

This week, I want you to know church, that I am proud of you. There are so many reasons I make that statement, but I want to focus on one - and it is very similar to the reason for Paul’s pride in the Macedonian church. For two years now, you have been serving as the sponsoring church for the replant of First Southern Baptist Church of Cordes Lakes. That has meant a commitment to sending support. You have supported by showing up, encouraging and helping. Pastor Gary preached for an extended time early on. Jack and Cathy have been helping with youth for awhile now. The ladies in the office have been very busy gearing up for the major transition to overseeing the administrative functions—and you have been faithful all the while to give.

WEEK IN WORSHIP MARCH 4 -MARCH 10
Continued from page 1 Each week as you give, a percentage of you offering goes to our financial commitment in Cordes Lakes. Your giving is going a long way in making sure that new pastor, Jamie Long, can be on the field full-time. For that and more, I am as proud as punch of you. This Sunday evening, the next major milestone in this journey will take place. FSBC Cordes Lakes will cease to exist - and the new, relaunched church - Generations Church, SBC - will be birthed the next Sunday (March 11th).

To celebrate all that God is doing there, we will have a time of celebration on this Sunday evening (March 4th), during our evening service at 6 p.m. This will be a time of Commissioning for the work to take place. Three other churches will join with us for the commissioning. Now that Cordes is a part of our church family, we will celebrate as such. I hope that you have already put that time on your calendar to attend. This will be a evening like no other. It will be an evening to be proud of our God, with whom nothing is impossible - even reviving and relaunching a struggling church. And in all of that I find pride in you, dear FSBCPV church family!
