“… You are members of God’s very own family… and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” ~ Ephesians 2:19 (LB) ~
You belong here — Come together. Join us — It’s never too late to come to church — There’s a place for you here! — Come. Grow. Connect. We can’t wait to see you — Be the church! That’s right, this Sunday is nationwide “Back to Church Sunday”. That means we are inviting you, your family, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, your in-laws — well you get the picture — were inviting anyone and everyone to come and join us in Bible Study and Worship this Sunday morning at First Southern.
PASTORAL STAFF Terrell Eldreth, Senior Pastor
Why do we do this? Everyone knows to go to church, don’t they? Especially Christians who are members of a church already. Afterall, that person would never miss being in Bible Study and Worship on a Sunday.
Scott Terry, Worship Pastor OFFICE CONTACT & HOURS Monday — Friday
You may be thinking that way, but that’s not reality. Nation-wide, the average church member who considers themselves “regular attenders” show up at church just over one Sunday a month. Let that sink in for a moment. It’s no wonder so many churches are anemic. They are missing vital parts of their body. Fellowship and ministry are severely hindered. I praise God that here at First Southern, our average rate of attendance is much, much higher than the national average. Yet, we still miss too many members and regular attenders on any given weekend. Hence, we are not as complete as Jesus wants us to be. There is fellowship and growth that is missed out on. There are ministry opportunities that are lost. We suffer, and our community suffers.

\ By attending faithfully \ By living a godly life \ By giving regularly Taken together, these commitments add up to a healthy church. That sounds a whole lot better than being anemic. I don’t know about you, but I prefer to be weird in the area of church life rather than normal. Afterall, we do belong here together in the body of Christ. Let’s show our community that we take that privilege and commitment seriously. Let’s show up this Sunday and Be the Church! However, don’t just come alone. Invite a neighbor or friend to come with you. Let them discover what Christ offers them as a gift of His grace. Blessings on your week as you consider your commitment to the body of Christ and consider who you should invite to come with you this Sunday. Pastor Terrell P.S. This Sunday morning I will be sharing What God DOESN’T See in You. Some people are reluctant to attend church because they are afraid of what God thinks about them. Let’s help our family and friends find out how much God cares for them.
