“But now, this is what the Lord says… ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.’” ~ Isaiah 43:1 (NIV) ~
THE GIFT GIVER The voices all around me shout that there is no chance of living with inner peace. The voices all shout that there is no possibility of living in peace. The voices all shout that there is no personal, compassionate, all-knowing God. The voices all scream at me that there is no hope to be found. The voices are loud. The voices are unrelenting. And… The voices are all dead wrong! I know the One who is Hope. I know the One who is Peace. I know the One who is Joy. I know the One who knows me better than I know myself. He is my Savior. He is my Lord. He is the Gift Giver. He is the One who provides everything the voices say that I cannot find or possess. He is Jesus.

This weekend we move into Christmas mode. We will celebrate our Savior, our Lord, our Gift Giver. I truly pray that you will not listen to all the contrary voices shouting and screaming at you to ignore the Baby in the manger. Don’t ignore the One who redeemed us on the cross. Don’t ignore the One who loved us enough to die for us. Who loved us enough to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
with our activities.
I’m looking forward to seeing you this coming Sunday — Christmas Sunday — for In-Person or Online Worship. This Sunday our choir will be presenting a great cantata: THE CHILD WHO CHANGED THE WORLD, and I will conclude my Christmas sermon series: SING WE NOW OF CHRISTMAS. In this series of sermons, we have been taking a closer look at some favorite Christmas songs — and the message they offer the world. In these familiar carols we are being reminded of the miracle of God’s presence in our lives — as proclaimed in the message of Advent Season. This Sunday we will conclude by looking very briefly at I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day. Then on Sunday evening we will gather for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 5:00 p.m. I really hope you will be present to experience the blessings of His birth with us.
