Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. I love happy endings. All of my favorite movies have happy endings, and so do all of my favorite books. Sometimes it doesn’t look like there is going to be a happy ending, but then lo and behold, it happens. Other times it’s pretty much all happiness from start to finish.

Psalm 100 is one of the latter. It starts out happy, it’s happy in the middle and it ends up happy. There’s a reason for that: the focus of Psalm 100 is all about worshipping God, so there is no room for anything but joy. The psalm opens with joy, gladness and more joy. Why? Because we’re worshipping God. The ending is just as good, if not better.

We are living through a time where a lot of days seem short on joy and gladness, and when a happy ending doesn’t always seem likely. What we have to remember is that when we worship God, joy is the result, and that God’s love for us endures forever. No matter what happens between now and the ending, God’s love for us will still be there. So, shout for joy and come before Him with joyful songs!

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY IN I PETER Letting God Shine Through Life’s Hard Moments How does it feel to be hurt by another person or treated unfairly? What about when we suffer for doing what is right? These experiences often cause feelings of frustration, bitterness, and even anger. But God calls His women to respond in a different way— a way that those around us don’t expect. He desires for us to put on a gentle and quiet spirit, one that puts our heavenly Father on display to a watching world . . . and brings greater glory to Him. Discover how to: —Let others see God in your life even in the difficult times —Successfully handle life’s challenges —Rest completely in God’s strength Thursdays at 10 AM, October 8-December 17, 2020 on Zoom (No class on Thursday, November 26, 2020)
