1 1924: Josef Fischer Senior begins making handcarts and sledges in a wooden barn. 4—

2 1936: Skis are made in several stages. First signs of series production. 3 1939: Throughout the Second World War, not a day passes without production at Fischer. 4 1957: Fischer conquers the world market. A quarter of production is already destined for export. Production capacity is 50,000 pairs of skis. 5 1959: Josef Fischer Senior dies of a heart attack. He leaves behind him one of the biggest ski companies in the world. Josef Fischer Junior and his sister, Selma Sturmberger, now run the company.

6 1964: On October 9, Fischer opens its new premises on the outskirts of Ried, the largest in the world for a ski manufacturer at the time. 7 1971: The first Fischer cross country line is presented at the ISPO trade fair in Munich. 8 1980: Thomas Wassberg wins the gold medal in the 15 km race during the Olympic Games in Lake Placid with an extremely lightweight cross country ski. 9 1993: Fischer is the most successful ski brand at the Nordic World Championships in Falun. Bjørn Dæhlie wins the overall cross country World Cup, Vegard Ulvang finishes third. 10 1994: Fischer launches its cross country boot range at the ISPO show in Munich.

11 2010: Fischer dominates the Nordic Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, winning 51% of the medals. The best athlete of the Games: Marit Bjørgen. 12 2013: At the 2013 ISPO fair Fischer introduces the new generation of Nordic racing skis: Speedmax. As the name implies, the ski offers a new dimension of speed. 13 2017: At the 2017 ISPO, Fischer presents another milestone in independence and introduces a new range of bindings, binding plates, and boot soles under the TURNAMIC® brand.

XC-TEST BOARD BASE FRAME Using the XC-TEST BOARD is generally a good way of selecting classic and skating skis. This method is indispensable for choosing classic skis with a waxed base. The advantage is that you can choose the ski that ideally matches the customer's weight. You are then also able to see the length of the waxed zone and mark it on the ski.
