Planning application monitoring / protective provisions
Proactive monitoring, reviewing and responding to planning applications that are submitted near our clients’ assets. This service also includes the subsequent negotiation of any protective provisions that might be required to protect the assets during and after the development has been completed.
On site asset protection & permitting
Provision of experienced asset maintenance technicians to ensure sites are managed in line with all client and health & safety requirements, including the opening and closing of permits.
Management of 3rd party projects
Full management and administration of the interaction between our client and any 3rd party completing a new development, to ensure our clients’ assets remain safe and operational.
Landowner database management / land referencing
Provision and management of a landowner database includes regular referencing of the data to ensure it is up-to-date. This service also includes annual landowner/occupier letters to raise awareness of the presence of our clients’ assets and the process they need to follow when planning works around them.
Land rights advice
Land and legal advice on documents and legislation that clients must adhere to when managing and maintaining their assets. This service also includes the creation and management of a property terrier if required.
Access to land & compensation negotiation
Liaison with landowners to provide access to land and negotiation of any compensation arising from the works, whilst ensuring best value for the client.
Third party works monitoring/oversight
Onsite oversight, monitoring and reporting of 3rd party work around our clients’ assets to ensure they remain safe and operational.

Regular liaison with Local Authorities and Resilience Forums to ensure they’re aware of our clients’ assets and the requirements they must follow in the event of an emergency.
Marker post remedials
Full planning and execution of marker post maintenance in line with client requirements. Tailored reports automatically sent to the client upon completion including before and after photographs.
Vegetation clearance
Small, medium or large-scale vegetation clearance to ensure our clients’ assets can be accessed for inspection.
General asset and site maintenance
Provision of experienced asset maintenance technicians who can investigate, identify and complete work on behalf of a client.
Line walking
Routine line walking that includes depth surveys, recording marker post remedials and infringement reporting.
Provision of a year-round, out of hours, on call service to ensure enquiries can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Emergency response
Emergency response to unplanned work, whether that be first on site acting as an emergency response officer or liaising with 3rd parties who need to work around our clients’ assets safely.
GIS / mapping
Our in-house GIS team provides a dedicated service to ensure any GIS/mapping needs are met, whether that be the creation of bespoke plans or the operation of mapping interfaces.
Environment / ecology
Provision of environmental and ecology advice to ensure all legal requirements are met when planning and completing work on site. This includes expert advice in biodiversity net gain (BNG).
Ground and aerial patrols/surveys
Planned and unplanned patrols to routinely monitor assets or search for potential infringements, so they can be effectively managed.
Cathodic protection installation and monitoring
Provision of experienced cathodic protection (CP) technicians who can collect and report CP readings, conduct CP surveys and install and manage CP systems.
Pig tracking
In-field pipeline inspection gauge tracking to ensure the client knows the whereabouts of it within their pipeline at any given time.

The group, managed by Fisher German, develop standard guidelines for work near pipelines and create comprehensive presentations to educate on these practices. It also distributes educational documentation and literature to ensure everyone is informed.
Linewatch maintains links with LSBUD for all prospective works and represents their member operators at industry exhibitions and trade shows.
It also compiles data and reports on activities within the pipeline zone of interest, sharing information on third-party incidents and near misses to enhance overall safety.
