Clean Air is Key Step to Staying Healthy

Battling the Pandemic

With COVID-19 cases peaking and winter weather forcing most people to spend time indoors, Lou Doro, vice president of Clean Air Quality Services, Inc. says more people are taking preventative maintenance inspections to make sure their buildings and homes have clean air filters.

“Clean air filters equal clean air,” says Doro, who is also president of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Nasional Association of the Hudson Valley. “We’ve gone from quarterly maintenance inspections to in some cases every two weeks. In critical areas like nursing homes and hospitals the people there know that clean filters can make a difference in filtering out the airborne particles in the air that contain the virus.” Doro says he’s seen an unprecedented spike in the installation of ultraviolet air purifiers as a way to reduce air pollutants.

“There is a concern that cold and flu season on top of COVID will be a problem. People want to stay on top this before it becomes an issue. Our concern is air flow, keeping the filters and coils are clean and making sure there is enough outside air being brought into buildings.
