CLASSICS IN THE CAPITAL
The Details
The fascinating world of classic cars takes centre stage at Olympia, London on Saturday 25th February for an exclusive auction of 100 of the finest cars of yesteryear by specialist auctioneer Historics.
Well-known for its vibrant classic car sales at venues including Ascot Racecourse, Historics is the official auction partner of The London Classic Car Show and is staging the auction midway through the three day event at Olympia, that’s been steeped in motoring history for more than a century.
Historics has assembled a truly spectacular array of classics for this sale, to suit all tastes and pockets.
For example there’s a magnificent example of an exceptionally rare 1954 Porsche 356 Pre-A Coupé, believed to be the earliest right-hand drive production 356. Joining it is an equally collectible 2.0 litre 1969 Porsche 911 S, plus a wonderful array of Porsche’s finest spanning several decades.

Italian classics are most certainly not be outdone, with a brace of timelessly-elegant late 1950’s Alfa Romeos joining a striking grand tourer in the shape of a 1972 Maserati Ghibli, one of just 13 delivered to the UK, whilst four years its junior a wonderful 1976 Ferrari Dino 246 GT is sure to get pulses racing.

Waving the sports car flag for Britain is a number of true archetypes... a very collectible 1964 Aston

Martin DB5 leading the charge. Meanwhile an example of the holy grail of Jaguar E-Types, a flat floor 1961 Series 1 Roadster, is joined by a constellation of exceptional E-Types of different eras, plus more from the iconic marque.
As ever at Historics sales, there is a fine collection of Mercedes-Benz classics and no Historics sale would be complete without more affordable and less conventional classics. A rare 1953 Ford Consul Mk.1 Estate by Abbot of Farnham sets the tone, whilst the honour of the quirkiest entry at this showcase auction by Historics most surely goes to a rare, amphibious 1965 Amphicar 770 that’s equally at home on the road or on water!
