SUMMER HOLIDAY FUN AT PAINSHILL

This summer discover Painshill, the magical landscape garden in Cobham Surrey. 160 acres are full of things for the whole family to explore, including temples, woodlands, a lake and the famous Crystal Grotto.

The Painshill Art Trail, featuring pictures, paintings and engravings of the landscape, will be in place during the school holidays. Painshill was designed as a living painting in the 18th century and, since its inception, has inspired artists, photographers and filmmakers. Take a walk around the trail and discover all the images of the beautiful landscape. Perhaps you will even be inspired to create your own art work! Activity sheets will be available to pick up with some fun ideas for children to get involved.

For Children Aged 2 To 6 Years

Painshill’s Parent and Child Forest School offers big adventures for little people. Specifically aimed at pre-school children, and their accompanying adult, the sessions are jam packed full of sensory play, wildlife spotting and fun outdoor games. Every session finishes up in style with a special snack round the campfire. Morning or afternoon sessions are available on various dates during July and August.

On Saturday August 26, join Folksy Theatre in Painshill’s walled garden to see if you can help the poor Ugly Duckling find happiness. Bring along your picnics, folding chairs and friends and family, to enjoy this wonderful open-air, family musical based on the classic fairy tale.

For Children Aged 8 Plus

Get ready for a summer of fun with Painshill’s Wild Summer Day Camps. These full days of adventure ensure children, aged 8 to 11, have an amazing outdoor experience where they can make friends, grow their confidence and learn new skills. Activities include den building, bush craft, pond dipping, animal tracking, willow weaving and more. Various dates are available over the school holidays.

Introduce your family to Shakespeare this summer with two evenings of innovative, accessible and exciting outdoor theatre. Folksy Theatre, known for using live music and puppetry, bring The Merry Wives of Windsor on Saturday July 29 and Four Forty Theatre perform their ‘Double Bill’ on Friday August 4. Four Forty have been delighting audiences up and down the country with their fast paced, in your face, hysterically funny productions. 4 actors will perform Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet in just 40 minutes!
