THE RIGHT PATH
By choosing an independent education, parents can open up a world of opportunities for their child, not just academically, but also, in terms of life skills and character development. As employers continue to look beyond grades, these soft skills become even more important, for example, captaining a team, obtaining a Duke of Edinburgh award, fundraising or volunteering. Independent schools, with their many co-curricular activities, clubs and trips, help pupils experience life beyond the classroom.
Research shows that busy, happy children do well in the classroom. With fantastic facilities, specialist staff, a thriving, nurturing community and extensive co-curricular activities, Ballard School offers a holistic education. By balancing academics, pastoral care and co-curricular opportunities, each child is guided to reach their potential.

Set in 34 acres, facilities are exceptional - everything your child needs, whatever their interests, from Nursery to GCSE. Ballard is an ‘excellent and outstanding’ (ISI) and Good Schools Guide school. Their strength across the board is recognised nationally. In 2022, they gained Green Flag status (EcoSchools); were finalists for both Independent School of the Year (Performing Arts) and ISA Schools (Art & Design); Highly Commended for Sport (ISI) and shortlisted for Co-Educational School of the Year - impressive for a local day school.
Here are a couple of stories from members of the Ballard Family:
Amy, past Head Girl
“There are so many things I love about Ballard, especially their family ethos. There’s no hierarchy; friendships are made across year groups; everyone’s included. Opportunities to mentor younger pupils create bonds, trust and support for the mentee.
