OXFORD STRIPES FOR CLAYESMORE
CELEBRATING FUTURE THINKERS, MAKERS AND CREATORS
It’s been an exciting start to the year at Clayesmore, a leading co-educational, all through day and boarding school in North Dorset, as Year 13s have been receiving offers from their chosen universities.
This year’s Oxbridge offers include a place for Seth C to read German at St Hilda’s College, Evie A, to read English at Balliol College and for Tasmin J to read Chemistry at Hertford College.

Other offers include Durham, Warwick, Exeter, Nottingham and the Royal Agricultural University, to name but a few, with a diverse range of courses including History, Nursing, Architecture, International Festival and Events Management, Journalism, Fashion Marketing and Management and Global Sustainable Development.
Head, Jo Thomson says ‘As ever, I’m incredibly proud of all our pupils who are now starting their onward journey to realising their future dreams. Their success is a direct result of their hard work and commitment, and their teachers’ unwavering belief in every single student’s potential. It is this powerful ethos that makes
Clayesmore such a special and exciting place to be, and it is a pleasure and a privilege to watch the thinkers, makers and creators of the future growing in front of our eyes.’
Clayesmore is located in the beautiful village of Iwerne Minster, Dorset and is surrounded by glorious countryside.
The school comprises five boarding houses, with a 50:50 mix of day and boarding pupils. Total pupils numbers is approximately 550. The year 2021 marked the school’s 125th anniversary. Clayesmore’s founder, Lex Devine, whose guiding principle was to offer ‘an all-round education’ remains at the heart of a Clayesmore education today. Devine understood the importance of a traditional academic education, but he also recognised that, without a strong foundation of values and attitudes, it was nothing.
