Hi there.
Hey! I’m Deborah Fisher, object and pattern designer, and lifelong maker of handmade things. I am the circus juggler and the museum curator of this crazy mixed up cabinet of curiosities. I love materials, especially textiles and ceramics of all sorts. Each has their own sensibility and personality, and my style is evident across all mediums. My ceramics and textiles feature oddball animals and figures, as well as graphic, geometric, and wonky patterns in rich, bold colors. My company, Fish Museum and Circus, specializes in charming, quirky, functional objects for the sewing room, maker’s studio, and the creative home. The ceramic samples in this portfolio are hand built, by me, with my actual hands. They are decorated with underglazes using hand painting, paper cut stencils, and the traditional technique of sgraffito. These designs are ready to be licensed! They would like nothing more than to be launched into the big, wide world with great fanfare and confetti.

Chopstick Rests
Saltand Pepper Shakers Thingimals are animals that aren’t quite certain what to call themselves! Their manifestation as salt and pepper shakers suits their personalities well. So very essential, yet often overlooked, these thingmals bring a wonderful sense of whimsy to any table.

Plates

Plates are a lovely surface for simple, striking designs. This collection of plates focuses on one of my favorite graphic elements-the lovely scallop. Scallops evoke flower petals, festive bunting, and minimal landscapes. These plates are so fun they can stand alone, yet are simple enough to create a frame to show off any type of food that needs a place to live. The patterns on these plates can easily be scaled from small dipping dishes all the way up to large serving platters.

Large Vases
8
These dramatic ladies take center stage! They are lovely enough empty, just on their own, and they become extra wonderful when holding a bounty of leaves, flowers, and whatever else you might think of. The center vase is a bowl shape that, in addition to flowers, can also hold anything from a bunch of cherries to a single pineapple.

Small Vases

These lovely ladies are at it again, only this time on a smaller scale. Holding a nosegay, a single bloom or just on their own, their black and white patterning sets them apart. They are right at home anywhere from a minimal, neutral setting to colorful, exhuberant surroundings.

Small Vases

Here come the thingimals again! These guys are quite a bit larger than their salt and pepper shaker counterparts, and they jauntily hold a flower or bouquet in their hat or in their nose.

Chopstick Rests
14
As chopstick rests or as fun friends to hang about the table, these thingimals are as perfect for takeout for one as they are for a party.
Tiles
These bright, festive tiles are great for backsplashes, borders, and trivets. Choose all of the same design, or mix and match.

Kitchen Textiles
Textiles are found in every kitchen, so they may as well be fun! The colors and patterns of these tea towels, potholders, napkins, and tablecloths have been carefully matched to those used in the coordinating ceramics.

Planters

This sweet lady planter and her trusty sidekick are all about texture. Relief work and stamping create patterns of highlights and shadows, that are just right showing off garden greens.
