make people feel good; whether from light, moving about with today’s sustainable technologies. Creating a narrative that tells a story through space is an objective I have to create a unique experience that starts with a concept and idea. My purpose in pursing architecture is to work hard, create beautiful space for people to enjoy and be safe in while still being able to enjoy my creative side. Architecture is my PASSION. Expressing myself through art and design is what I love to do. As an architect, I can help others by teaching, designing, building, and using products that are not harmful to our environment. Having a career which gives me the opportunity to work with the community and help improve it by creating new experiences is what drives me. Creating spaces that engage people with the environment , as well as creating social interactions through design is important, ultimately creating a community and uniting people. My intention is to become a professional you can create spaces. We can achieve goals by creating communities by learning from each other and working together. "Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." --Andrew Carnegie

Miami Beach Workforce Housing was designed to bring in a community by extending the thresholds of the city to an open courtyard. This courtyard is activated by the use of connecting views to the studios and apartments allowing artists to showcase their work as well as get inspired and learn about social events. The auditorium on the ground level invites artists to showcase their artwork through the use of open and light spaces. The sustainable systems allow natural light and cross ventilation in each apartment which also allows the possible viewpoints to be experienced to allow for inspiration and showcasing artwork.

Kamakura Art Museum was designed to rethink the relationship between nature and people. The museum's entrance begins above ground, leads towards the gallery spaces which are carved into the ground, and finally leads to a completely underground space which frames the view of Fuji Mountain. This architectural promenade narrates the history of Japanese architecture; Jomon period, Yamato period, and the Asuka period. They way architecture is lifted or submerged in the ground tells this story and visitors are able to experience it through time. Although the cafe is completely submerged in the ground, natural light enters through slits which are carved from the mountain bringing nature inside the space and continuing the passage of time. The three spaces create an axis to a central courtyard where temporary art installations can take place.

Inspired by the neighboring context of the NA House by Sou Fougimoto, the project focuses on the behavior and movements of the human. Private and public spaces are defined by compression and decompression through a series of layers. These layers are defined by thin sheets of metal for the the ceilings and floor plates, as well as the steel columns to support these loads. The steel columns vary in size and height to create disrupting paths for privacy or a released space for public space. The layering of floors plates and columns allows the space to transform the programs at the human scale based on behavioral relationships.

The concept of the design center is to integrate the old and new elements using thresholds to form intersecting spaces. The intersecting spaces allow students/ faculty/ visitors to always be connected and have a viewpoint to the art, workspaces, and landscape. Thresholds intersect creating gardens that form these gathering spaces.

The concept of this project is to connect all the programs with the use of light and pathways. Transparent windows create natural light in the space as well as framing a view. The natural landscape becomes its own piece of art that is framed by these transparent walls. When exhibitions take place, artwork is place on the large gallery walls. Depending on the point of view, the artwork changes based on light and scale. This leads you towards the main gathering space which is centralized in a courtyard bringing in all artists into a community.

LIBRARY IN CONVOLUTION MIAMI BEACH, FL
LIBRARY: a place where people get lost in different types of literature and find themselves through experience and knowledge. Individuals get lost in different forms and eventually find their own path. After reading and gaining an understanding, they create their own experience and share their ideas to a community. The architectural form of this library is constructed as a labyrinth to show the relationship between how people get lost in these books, but ultimately find their own path and understanding of this knowledge and experience. The library leads to the center where people share ideas and integrate their knowledge. Linear planes create these connections and allow for seating, bookshelves, tables, and floor paths. These linear elements also connect to the exterior courtyard bring the outside inside with visual connections and different viewpoints depending on program. The linear linkages create dissolved boundaries connecting all the programs into one.

The lower levels of the library are more condensed and compressed creating disrupting paths. These paths are made of bookshelves which allow visitors to get lost in these books. The first two levels are dark to protect the books as well as to highlight the idea of individuality. The top levels are more open and reveal the exterior landscape through larger openings creating a sense of release. These spaces are open to encourage public gatherings while the darker spaces allow for contemplation.
