FIVE: Our name rings out loud and clear, since our mission is to protect hands (and the FIVE fingers that come with it…) during activities that require high-performance technical gloves, such as riding a two-wheeled vehicle. For 20 years now, we’ve been helping riders enhance their enjoyment at the handlebar, while protecting hands from injury in case of a fall, by equipping millions of motorcycle enthusiasts around the world. Gloves are an item designed for safety, but also for comfort.

PROTECTION – because your hands are essential. Imagine having to spend even a single day without using one of your hands due to an injury, even one that’s not serious. The smallest activity would be truly difficult, and the discomfort would be highly distressing. Protecting your hands is crucial. We don’t always think about it, but as a reflex, we tend to put our hands out in front of us if we fall. They are, therefore, particularly exposed. Our goal is to reduce the risk of specific injuries related to motorcycle riding.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FIVE
FITTING – because gloves form the link between you and your motorcycle. To truly savor piloting your motorcycle, this connection should be seamless, allowing for perfect responsiveness each time you touch the controls, whether you’re accelerating, braking, or changing direction. Feeling every move at the controls (and, by extension, every movement of your motorcycle) is essential. It’s even further proof of safety. And this should happen with a certain amount of comfort. Our desire is clearly to enhance the enjoyment you feel when riding your motorcycle.
DESIGN – because we consider a functional aesthetic to be especially important. In our view, the shape of each piece that makes up a glove stems from the role it plays in its use (protection, comfort, ventilation, abrasion resistance, etc.). This is why we design and craft each element independently, without using any standard pieces, so that a FIVE glove is exclusive and distinctive. Our designs are often imitated, but never equaled! So, you might as well choose the original, FIVE.
Hands have the particular complexity of being extremely sensitive parts of the body (sensitive to cold, heat, and collisions), highly exposed in case of a fall, and replete with a number of small, fully articulated elements (bones, tendons, muscles, blood vessels). More than anything, it’s through our hands that we experience one of our five senses, the sense of touch. In other words, the very least element of a glove that’s badly designed or wrongly placed is immediately uncomfortable. A badly fitting glove or one that’s not right for your body type or riding style can considerably diminish your riding pleasure, or even ruin what promised to be a great ride, because your attention would be focused on the discomfort rather than the beauty of the landscapes you’re experiencing. A glove should therefore perfectly mold to the curves of your hand as it grips the handlebars and controls and allow for total freedom of movement of each and every joint. This is why our gloves are pre-shaped and why we take care to perfectly position protective elements, just as we do those that enable joint movement.
As you can see, you can’t just design a pair of gloves like you do a piece of clothing. The glove is not just a simple extension of your jacket, contrary to what non-specialist brands may lead you to believe. In terms of gloves, the approach has to be even more technical, due to the small size of the pieces assembled, their number, and the freedom of movement of the hand that is hard to obtain, yet indispensable. Because, by definition, layering levels of fabric and protective elements can swiftly end up hindering the mobility of the hand, if real expertise isn’t used. This is why we’ve made the choice to become THE Glove Specialist, because we believe in the virtues of specialization and expertise. It’s hard to imagine how complex designing an effective, high-performance glove can be. Designing an “aesthetically pleasing” glove, like many brands do, is relatively easy. Creating a glove that’s functional and both elegant, comfortable, and protective, no matter the size, and for mass production, presents a whole other challenge. This is our vocation. We’re no cleverer, nor more intelligent, than general gear providers. We want to offer gloves that are far better than average, because that’s all we make. We dedicate all our efforts and endless hours, day after day, with each passing month and every year, to just one product: gloves! And this is how we can keep developing our expertise and constantly improving the quality of our products.

WORLD
Beyond the idea of comfort and perfect fit, a FIVE glove often offers so much more than competitors’ gloves, if you truly look at the details. It’s not necessarily obvious when you purchase them, but this makes a huge difference when you wear and use them, in terms of comfort, the level of protection, and durability. When you compare the materials that make up FIVE gloves from the rest of what’s out there on the market, you’ll see that, compared to products that are “supposedly comparable” (in terms of price, for example), FIVE frequently offers so much more. From authentic, full-grain leather, when competitors are offering synthetic leather…to real Carbon, when others only offer basic plastic with a carbon look…to Kevlar® lining, when other manufacturers offer no reinforced lining. And then, there’s the external stitching, which offers greater comfort but is harder to make, as opposed to standard seams, etc. Our motto: offering the best possible product at the best possible price. The qualities of a FIVE glove can truly be appreciated once it’s worn, even more than in-shop.

We utilize optimal technology in our products, which leads us to select renowned technical partners, such as GORE-TEX® (weatherproof membrane), Primaloft®, and Dupont de Nemours® (Kevlar®) Gütermann® (for threads that are durable, yet don’t cut into the skin), and adopt their innovations for our most advanced products. For example, we were the first to use Nanofront®, an absorbent, non-slip material from Japan, on the palm of our high-end motocross glove, for peerless grip.
We’re not content to simply design our products, we make them in our own partner factories.
Our technicians and colleagues are on site to make sure that each glove that emerges from our production lines is consistent with the initial guidelines set forth by our R&D department in France and our technical lab in Italy, which has developed expertise in gloves over several generations and ensures that our patterns (and our gloves) are in perfect working order…from the smallest to the very largest sizes!
Our gloves are designed to cover the hand, but they are also “hand” made, by expert workers and seamstresses. Making a glove requires a considerable number of manual steps, whether it’s making pieces of the protective elements, cutting, embellishing, assembling, or sewing the elements that compose it. These workers handle the fabrics and rigid pieces and assemble them using a “plain old” sewing machine, with almost unbelievable dexterity. One of the essential aspects of the comfort and proper fit of a glove is the attention given to its assembly. At FIVE, our precision standard in terms of the stitches assembling the fingers, for example, is two times more precise than standard practices in the industry. This lower tolerance for gaps in the alignment of stitches creates an extra constraint for our workers and requires them to be particularly attentive. Nevertheless, it is absolutely essential for a perfect fit, and this is one of the keys to FIVE’s expertise.
Producing in our partner factories allows us to maintain perfect control over our output, including in quality management. It is precisely because our gloves are assembled by human beings, and not by robots (which would be unable to copy the movements of a seamstress), that sometimes a slight gap identified at the moment of assembly creates the need for stitching that may loosen over time. This remains an exception and affects less than 1% of our total output (0.6%, to be exact), a level well below industry averages. We are proud of this low rate (zero errors simply does not exist) and take responsibility for it, to the advantage of our clients, with Premium product support through our international sales network, in order to provide total satisfaction to users of FIVE gloves.
The development of FIVE gloves is based on real feedback.
It’s in collaborating with top-level riders and listening to the needs of and feedback from thousands of users throughout the world that we are able to develop ever more comfortable and protective gloves. We test our gloves under the extreme conditions offered by top-level competition, before we bring them to market. And the innovations we decide to use for racing benefits the amateur products in our range. Our official riders take part in MotoGP, Moto3, Superbike, Supersport, Endurance, Supermoto, Motocross, and Enduro world championships… They wear FIVE gloves on racetracks throughout the world and actively contribute to the evolution of our products. And so, when Michele PIRRO took a spill at over 300 kms/h at Mugello in 2018, and got up without a scratch on his hands, we were truly happy and proud to be his equipment partner. Unwittingly, he helped us study how our gloves perform in a real-life situation, well beyond any tests we carry out in a lab. In the same way, when Peter HICKMAN won the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (the fastest and undoubtedly most dangerous road race in the world) - setting the average speed record at 136 mph, when Dominique AEGERTER becomes double Supersport World Champion in 2021 and 2022, when team YART becomes 2023 Endurance World Champion and 2024 vice-champion, when Thomas CHAREYRE was crowned 8-time Supermoto World Champion, or Steve HOLCOMBE took several Enduro World Championship titles, all of them wearing FIVE gloves, we can’t help thinking that our products do, in fact, deliver the goods for the most demanding riders and athletes. Though riders are at the very heart of our product development strategy, it’s also a matter of passion. Because all of us at FIVE share a love affair with motor sports. In fact, we have several former professional riders now working for us at the office, and we feel blessed to share great friendships with a number of champions, who have worn or still wear our gloves. We’re always proud to see our official riders raising up their trophies and breaking out the champagne on the podium, wearing FIVE gloves, a sign that these gloves have truly done their job during the race. ;) But, above all, we design and make our gloves for our clients. Make the right choice in gloves.
To choose the right glove for you, several factors come into play. The type of motorcycle you’re riding. The season you’ll be using it in (Should it be ventilated? Does it need to be heated?). The average distance you’ll be covering. How often you’ll be using it. The level of protection and comfort required. Your budget. 20 YEARS... 20 FIVE riders.
FIVE is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025! We could have presented 20 glove styles that mattered, but our passion for sport is a fundamental part of our brand’s identity. And so, reflected in the careers of 20 riders*, we look back at 20 years dedicated to the pleasure of riding…and winning.
It was just before the start of 2005. The founder of FIVE, a former amateur Enduro rider with a passion for motorsport and business, had already successfully contributed to the major equipment makers setting up shop in France. A desire to work “for himself” rather than for others and to broaden his experience to the rest of the world led him to create his own brand **.
Confident that there was a way to enhance motorcycle gloves’ level of comfort and safety by focusing on the matter and becoming THE specialist in this field, he created FIVE Gloves, with product quality as his absolute priority: They had to add to the joy of riding and the safety of their rider! The brand was launched in 2005 with a truly international vision and approach right from the start.
Out of passion, at least as much as to promote his products, he made the top tier of competitive riding an essential part of the FIVE development process. These riders expect nothing less than the best; they tasked the brand with giving it to them, and then shared their feedback on the product for the end consumer, for continuous improvement.
From the beginning, the brand focused on young Boris CHAMBON, who would bring FIVE its very first world title in Supermoto, right from its first year of existence in 2005. Many successes would follow in both the sporting and commercial domains.
The riders who are FIVE athletes or ambassadors are all selected based on the human-centered and sporting values that the brand shares. They are usually the ones who approach us, wanting to use the best possible gloves in their quest for victory. And a simple handshake has long been enough to seal the partnerships established between FIVE and its riders. Many of these partnerships would last for years.
FIVE has now been around for 20 years. And so, here are 20 exceptional champions, listed by more-or-less chronological order (and not by order of importance), who have made their mark, or who still matter in the history of FIVE Advanced Gloves.
* Many other riders have participated in and contributed to the adventure that is FIVE, but it seemed impossible to us to mention all of them here. Nevertheless, they hold just as much of a special place in our hearts. Thank you all!
** The founder of FIVE sold the brand to the DC Expansion group in 2019, which has pursued the adventure by keeping all the original staff and riders.
01_ Boris CHAMBON
The very first FIVE rider, 2005 Supermoto World Champion.
Boris was the very first official FIVE rider. He would win the Supermoto World Championship title at the controls of his official KTM in 2005, equipped with SF1 gloves, which were not nearly as sophisticated and comfortable as they are today. He participated in the development of the first FIVE series of gloves and still contributes to their evolution today since he’s in charge of CE certification for the brand, whose team he joined when he retired from his professional career. He’s also the point man for our official riders, with whom he interacts on an equal footing.
02_ Stéphane CHAMBON
An eclectic rider and partner.
Following on the heels of his younger brother Boris, Steph joined FIVE as an official rider. As a friend of our founder, he would take part in the adventure by spending a certain period with us as a partner and associate. Considered an Artist of the controls (with a big “A”), he distinguished himself as a Supermoto rider, a winner of multiple Guidon d’Or awards, then world speed champion in the Supersport category, and a winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Though smaller in stature, Steph is a giant in terms of talent and kindness.

Mister Dakar!
Stéphane can be considered a friend of FIVE and its founder from the very start. Without the actual FIVE “official” status during his career, he has loved wearing FIVE gloves for years now on his motorcycle jaunts, the way he likes it, at the controls of his Yamaha. A record-holder for Dakar Rally victories in both the motorcycle and automotive categories and an Enduro World Champion, Stéphane PETERHANSEL is a legend in motorsports who needs no introduction. He has access to as many different FIVE gloves as he wants…for life!
04_ Andréa DOVIZIOSO
MotoGP Rider / 1st career victory in Donington (UK) in MotoGP on July 26, 2009 with FIVE gloves.
Andréa DOVIZIOSO marked FIVE’s entry into the world of MotoGP. As a promising young rider for HONDA in this premier category, Andréa achieved the very first MotoGP victory in his career in England on the Donington track on July 26, 2009, equipped with the first generation of the RFX1, our most popular racing glove, which he had helped bring to life. “Dovi” would go on to become one of the most celebrated stars in MotoGP, winning several world vice-champion titles. Our cooperation lasted 6 years between 2007 and 2012.
05_ Jean-Michel BAYLE
A motorsports legend.
Jean-Michel BAYLE, or “JMB 111”, may be considered the most eclectic rider in the history of motorsports, a dominant figure or participant among the elite of disciplines as varied as supercross, speed Grand Prix, or endurance. Once a World Champion, then U.S. Champion in motocross and supercross, throughout a stunning career, he started from scratch to become one of the top names in world road racing at Grand Prix 500cc (currently MotoGP) level, then in endurance (Winner of the Bol d’Or and the 24 Hours of Le Mans). An accomplished rider on both dirt and asphalt, he’s been an ambassador for Honda and for FIVE for several years now and marvelously embodies the spirit of our Trail Adventure collection.
06_ Fabio QUARTARARO
CEV Moto 3 Champion with FIVE, and future MotoGP World Champion. Fabio wore FIVE gloves throughout his younger years in competition until he won the Spanish Championship in CEV Moto3 and distinguished himself by securing a place on the leaderboard of his very first Moto3 World Championship in Texas, equipped with the RFX Race glove. Just for the record, it was FIVE’s founder who recommended him, at the time, to the boss of his current equipment supplier for racing suits. The latter OK’d Fabio’s choice to wear FIVE gloves with his suits until he reached the Moto2 category. And you know the next part: he would become a star and the first French MotoGP World Champion. Fabio has been a FIVE rider from his very young age until he reached Moto2 class in 2017.
07_ Thomas CHAREYRE
Mister Supermoto, 8x World Champion .
Thomas is a mainstay for our brand in the world of motorsports. He has won all of his 8 Supermoto World Championship titles equipped with FIVE gloves. So there’s a long-standing collaboration between this rider and our brand, leading to many victories and titles, but also to the greater evolution of the SF1 style (launched by Boris CHAMBON), a short racing glove that’s perfect for riding a Supermoto or a roadster. After his recent move from TM to Honda, he wanted to stay with FIVE until the end of his career, which was announced for the end of 2024, after 19 seasons wearing our gloves. Absolute longevity record.
08_ Peter HICKMAN
Multiple winner and speed record-setter at the TT on the Isle of Man.
The Tourist Trophy is rightfully considered the most spectacular and dangerous motorcycle race in the world. Contested on the back roads that cross through the villages on the Isle of Man (UK), riders take laps at full throttle, reaching crazy speeds amidst the hedgerows and houses. The speed record-setter (clocked in at 219.4 km/h – 136.358 mph) and multiple winner in various categories (Superstock TT, Superbike TT, Senior TT), Britain’s Peter HICKMAN has chosen the most protective glove in the world, the FIVE RFX Race, for many years now. To triumph at the TT, you’ve got to have a lot of heart, real guts, and an absolute mastery of your craft. This is exactly what HICKY 60 has.
09_ Michele PIRRO
Ducati MotoGP rider, took a spill at 350 km/h at Mugello.
Michele PIRRO has been a FIVE rider in the MotoGP category for more than a decade. As a backup and test rider for DUCATI, he participates in the development of the Italian motorcycles and has been in several Grand Prix as a Wild Card, equipped with RFX Race gloves. He particularly stood out, to his consternation, by experiencing a fall at over 350 km/h, in other words, the highest speed ever registered for a fall on the MotoGP circuit. It was on the track at Mugello (Italy) in 2018 when his front brakes froze up as he accelerated into the home stretch. He emerged badly bruised but without any injuries to his hands.
10_ Steve HOLCOMBE
9x EnduroGP World Champion .
Steve HOLCOMBE is one of the most gifted and delightful riders of his generation. This British rider has won no less than 9 Enduro world championship titles (a series that’s still underway). Equipped with FIVE gloves since 2018, he has directly contributed to the development of our range of Enduro gloves, which are specifically designed for this discipline.
11_ Loïc LARRIEU
2019 Enduro World Champion.
With seven national titles, 3 team world championship ISDE titles, and an individual world title in Enduro, Loïc LARRIEU is one of the best. Lowkey in the rest of his life but tremendously committed and effective at the controls, Loïc is one of the faithful riders who’ve been working with FIVE for many seasons despite his change of Teams or category.
12_ Valentin GUILLOD
EMX2 2013 European Champion and World Top 10 MXGP rider.
Swiss rider Valentin GUILLOD and FIVE have had an understanding for over ten years. Valentin became European motocross champion while wearing FIVE gloves in 2013 before moving on to the MX2 world championship and reaching the top of the rankings. As part of Team HONDA SR since 2023, he’s once again wearing FIVE gloves, this time the MXF1 EVO style, and is one of the top 10 riders in the world in the premium MXGP category.
13_ Zach PICHON
A new-gen Enduro champion.
Zach is the son of motocross champion Mickaël PICHON. He represents the new generation in the Enduro World Championships and features regularly on the podium in the E1 category. As Junior World Champion in 2022, he’s proud of his MX roots and participates in the world championship wearing MXF Race gloves since he appreciates their precision. Zach is a well-rounded rider and an engaging young man, with an open and cheerful disposition inherited from his mom, enhanced with the spirit of a champion from his father. Zach PICHON will be changing teams in 2025 but will keep using his FIVE gloves.
14_ Dylan FERRANDIS
A FIVE rider in MX Grand Prix, then in US Supercross & Motocross.
In 2016, Dylan FERRANDIS, originally from Avignon, the town in the south of France where FIVE is based, participated in the MX2 world championships equipped with FIVE MXF PRORIDER gloves. He then left Europe for the U.S., and our collaboration had to be put on pause since his new Team had other commitments with a U.S. supplier. He would win 4 Championship titles in the U.S. in Supercross 250 and Motocross 250 & 450 on a Yamaha. His move to Honda in 2024 freed him up to start wearing FIVE gloves again. He now rides wearing the MXF Race, our new-gen motocross glove.
15_ Dominique AEGERTER
2x Supersport World Champion in 2021 & 2022.
Dominique AEGERTER won two titles as Supersport World Champion, equipped with FIVE RFX1 gloves. He also became World Champion of MotoE, the electric motorcycle category. This Swiss rider, who now competes in the world Superbike category, has been collaborating with FIVE for over five years. He has actively contributed to the development of the RFX1 style, which he prefers to the RFX Race, as well as to the execution of its natural evolution, the RFX1 EVO.
16_ Adrian HUERTAS
Leader of the 2024 Supersport World Championship.
This young Spanish rider, who is an official Ducati rider in the Supersport world championship, has, throughout this season, successfully tested our brand-new high-end Racing glove, the RFX1 EVO, and has worn it to the top of the leaderboard numerous times, thus offering him his first competitive victories even before his official launch scheduled for the end of 2024.
17_ Ana CARRASCO
First female world racing champion.
If women are the future of mankind, Ana CARRASCO holds a unique place in history. She became the first female world champion in the history of motorsports by winning the Supersport 300 title in 2018, beating all the men. She then participated in the Moto3 World Championship alongside the men and is currently chasing the 2024 Women’s World Championship title, which has finally been created this year. For the past few seasons, she has been wearing our RFX1 Woman style and is contributing to the development of this version in real-time, high-speed situations.
18_ Marc-Reiner SCHMIDT
2024 Supermoto World Champion.
Supermoto is FIVE’s favorite discipline. The brand has won around fifteen world titles, the first of which was with Boris CHAMBON, and eight others with Thomas CHAREYRE. But whereas these two riders won while wearing short SF1 gloves, “MRS” prefers our new RFX1 EVO, a glove featuring a long cuff, to win in 2024. Whatever the case, this adds a star to the FIVE pantheon in Supermoto.
19_ Pauline FERRAND PRÉVOT
MTB XC . She has gold in the palm of her hands!
She doesn’t ride motorcycles, but she’s a real legend on two wheels. Because she shines behind the handlebars of her bicycle, Pauline FERRAND-PRÉVOT has been working with FIVE for at least four seasons now. Though she’s a multiple World Champion on the road, gravel, and in cyclo-cross, it’s in the cross-country mountain biking category that she has shown her strength, equipped with FIVE gloves, culminating in a Gold Medal at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris, where she moved the whole world with her tears as she was crowned champion.
20_ Tom PIDCOCK
MTB XC . A Gold Medal for an exceptional champion!
Britain’s Tom PIDCOCK has made his mark in cross-country mountain biking while wearing FIVE gloves as the 2023 World Champion, then with another Gold Medal at the Paris Games, four years after his exploits in Tokyo. Tom loves mountain biking, though he also regularly excels in road racing, as a stage winner on the Tour de France at the summit of Alpe d’Huez. He has brought us one of the finest victories of these 2024 Summer Games, with a thrilling comeback after a flat tire, when he showed his truly British composure, confident as he was of his ultimate success.

Used successfully on the track on the hands of two-time Supersport World Champion Domi AEGERTER in 2021 and 2022, the RFX1 has excelled at the highest level. Now, it has been replaced by the RFX1 EVO after two years of intensive development alongside our official World Championship Supersport and Endurance riders.
This new version is more modern, comfortable, and high-performance, with a focus on brand-new

The SF1 is known as the ultimate “short racing glove”, perfect for riding roadsters, sport bikes, and supermotos. Today, it makes way for the SF1 EVO, for what turns out to be more than just a simple evolution. The SF1’s creation was originally driven by a straightforward concept: offering the best possible glove to our official Supermoto riders. In
superior to natural leather in terms of abrasion and tensile resistance, and an ultra-supple goat leather palm for the most precise and comfortable feel at the controls.
At the controls of a super-powerful roadster, precision is essential, but you also need high-level protection. Each protective element is therefore meticulously designed and placed within the glove, starting with the new AirGo PROTECH™ shells. Behind the creation of the STUNT by FIVE was a powerful idea: offering a short, sport-style glove for riding in urban & suburban zones that would be as protective as a track glove, and as lightweight and comfortable as a motocross glove. The STUNT succeeded in fulfilling this mission by adopting stretch elements in its topside construction and featuring sleekly designed protective shells and a leather palm that included a slider-type protective shell.
Though FIVE invented the STUNT, which helped make our brand a success throughout the world, this concept was then frequently copied…but never equaled. After the original STUNT came the STUNT EVO. Now, FIVE stays a step ahead once again with the third generation of this glove, the STUNT EVO2.

Even more comfortable and protective than its predecessors, the STUNT EVO2 and its different iterations use the latest generation of AirGO PROTECH™ Performance ergonomic protective shells.
Created by the Design and R&D departments at FIVE, their design is trademarked and protected. Their construction is now inspired by helmet technology, combining the benefits of a hard external shell with the advantages of soft internal elements that channel airflow. Like the hard shell of a helmet, the rigid outer shell protects you from the impact of a fall. And the internal soft element absorbs and diffuses the energy of any impact, as the internal EPS liner on a helmet would do. Its honeycombed structure, which includes multiple openings, promotes optimal airflow (as would the holes and channels in a helmet’s EPS inner liner).
On most gloves, foam of varying thickness is placed underneath the rigid plastic shells (even ventilated ones…), to make the contact zones between the glove and the hand more comfortable. What happens is that the foam tends to obstruct airflow. No such thing is happening with the STUNT EVO2, because its ergonomic shape and the softness of the internal AirGO PROTECH™ element means that no comfort foam is needed. Only a thin lining allows the air to filter through, thus ensuring a comfortable junction between the skin and the soft protective element that molds to the natural contours of the hand. The comparison with the world of helmets goes even further, because we’ve also produced 3 different shell sizes to cover the various (glove) sizes we offer. It’s the same as for major helmet makers, except that we’ve doubled down by producing 3 sizes of right-hand shells and 3 sizes of left-hand shells… ;)
These shells are solid enough to earn a level 2 protective designation in and of themselves according to the CE standard, in other words, the highest level.

The most exposed and prominent zone on the hypothenar and thenar eminence features a wide SuperFabric® panel, a material made of epoxy resin, which is highly resistant to tearing and cuts while remaining extremely flexible.
Designed for comfortably racking up the miles at the controls of a big trail bike, it features a full-grain goat leather palm that is very supple and perforated to help perspiration evaporate. Its breathable comfort lining in Coolmax® fabric fosters airflow and helps you stay cool and dry for longer. Air penetration into the glove is maximized with the cover over the AirgoProtech™ metacarpal protective shell. This shell is made up of an outer rigid shell and a soft, honeycombed inner element, which also improves airflow. In short, everything is designed to limit perspiration as much as possible, as well as the risk of developing blisters. The elements that make up the fingers of the glove are put together with external stitching to enhance the feeling of comfort and precision at the controls.

Most winter gloves have been made in the same way for ages…To put it simply, with thick, dense thermal insulation on the topside of the hand and a thinner layer on the palm, all the way up to between the fingers. And this is the weak point of this traditional type of construction. The cold ends up getting in through the fourchettes (this is what the zone between the fingers is called). FIVE has redesigned the basic principles of thermal insulation by using a new method of construction we call THERMO+™, which offers up to 20% greater thermal efficiency. The idea is quite simple: the thick insulation on the topside reaches all the way down into the area between the fingers, whereas the thinner insulation is contained within the flat part of the palm and fingers. This means rethinking all the other elements in the glove to preserve the impeccable suppleness of it all, as well as proper grip on the controls. It’s when you ride in the cold that you can truly understand the benefits
touch sensitivity and exceptional thermal and handling capabilities, which will allow you to face bad weather and the cold without any worries whatsoever. FIVE Heating Technology: thank you, electricity!
In theory, a heated glove is a winter glove with an added electrical resistor circuit powered by individual batteries, placed within the gloves or directly connected to the motorcycle*.
Its purpose is to produce artificial heat that repels the cold riders eventually feel when at the controls of a motorcycle in winter. But the inclusion of these electrical circuits requires a specific design and a certain level of expertise.
Our HG technology includes 1.3 mm-thick resistors (in other words, electrical wires), strategically placed on the back of the hand and the fingers, all the way down to their very tip, and on the inside of the last phalange. This type of construction offers uniform heat right where the cold is most acute, without compromising on palm sensitivity. Indeed, we haven’t placed electrical resistors on the inside of the palm so we don’t hinder your grip on the controls, but we have inserted a thin layer of thermal insulation. The heated handlebars grips of some motorcycles, which heat the inside of the palm, offer
a good addition to heated gloves, which warm up the zones that are most exposed to the cold: the back of the hand and the fingertips. But there’s a major difference between the temperature sent through the resistors and what the rider will feel when they’re on the move. The latter depends on external factors such as riding speed, the outside temperature, the wind, the length of the ride, the period of exposure to the cold, each individual’s temperature sensitivity, etc. Each rider will thus adapt the level of heat as desired, depending on these different parameters. Our system offers 3 levels of heat: Eco, Regular, and Boost. Each of these sends 45°C, 50°C, or 60°C heat through the circuit, to keep hands at a comfortable temperature. The goal isn’t to feel too much heat, but simply to make sure that your hands don’t get too cold during your ride. In Eco mode, battery life can last up to 6 hours. In Boost mode, which consumes more energy, power will last for around 2 hours. Battery life will vary depending on various parameters (the actual battery charge level, the temperature, the level of humidity, etc.).
Our new HG technology now features a second cable within the battery pocket for connecting the gloves to an AC electrical charger or our motorcycle connection kit. The batteries can then be recharged while you’re heating the gloves. The 7.4 volt, 2.2 Ah batteries reach a full charge in just 4 hours with the dual charger provided. They can remain in their pocket within the glove while they’re being charged.
Dual control, or how to make it easier and safer to adjust your heated glove controls.
The new DUAL CONTROL system developed by FIVE wants to make starting up and adjusting your HG heated gloves simpler and safer than ever.
Starting from the premise that the less you let up on the handlebars and controls, the safer your riding will be, we’ve designed a system that allows you to control the heating and adjust both of your gloves while you keep your right hand on the controls, on the throttle and front brake, which are essential elements for keeping your motorcycle under control. Placed on the cuff or the back of the right hand, depending on the style, the DUAL CONTROL button allows you to activate the heating on your gloves and adjust its level, cycling through the three levels by simply pressing repeatedly with your left index finger. The two gloves are connected using electromagnetic waves. The LED screen on the left glove displays the 3 levels of heat available, as well as the one selected, and the LED battery indicator on each hand allows you to know how much power you have left to heat each glove.
The FIVE Dual Control system, simpler and safer, allows you to stay focused on the road by keeping a hand constantly on the handlebars. It takes our new heating technology, and, especially, the riding experience, to a new level of efficiency and ease of use under wintertime conditions.

1_ HG CONNECTION KIT
Choose the optional HG connection kit to travel far and wide in the cold weather and enjoy unlimited battery life for your FIVE HG heated gloves. It comes with cables that allow you to directly connect your FIVE HG heated gloves to the cigarette lighter or the battery terminals of your motorcycle. The cables come in two sections (a Y-shaped “rider” section that includes a 12 V > 7.4 V transformer, and a “motorcycle” section) that plug into each other. Supplied with two end caps (which are compatible with the cigarette lighter or the battery terminals, depending on what your motorcycle offers), the “motorcycle” cable, particularly if it’s connected to the battery terminals, can simply stay in place once it’s set up. In terms of the “rider” section, the cables are long enough to be placed inside each sleeve and along the body, coming out at the hemline of your jacket, without hindering your movements in the least when you’re at the controls. It easily connects to the gloves using the additional female socket integrated into each glove’s battery compartment. You then simply have to plug in the “rider” cable to the “motorcycle” cable, and you’ll be all set to face the cold without a second thought. The FIVE system has the advantage of keeping the batteries inside the gloves when they’re connected to the motorcycle using the cables. This is much more practical for connectivity, and this way, each battery gets recharged while you ride, giving you the freedom to keep the heating system operating, even when you get off your bike and step away from it to admire the view.

When winter comes, the cold seeps in during most of our rides. So we need to be ready for it. The best thing to do is to choose winter gloves that are specially designed to offer excellent thermal insulation. But you may also want to use the everyday pair that you normally do when the weather is less severe. One solution to this is to slip on a pair of Ultra WS gloves underneath. Their GORE-TEX® WindStopper structure acts as a barrier against the wind and cold (without being totally waterproof), retaining the heat that’s naturally emitted by your hands. Their thinness allows you to slip them into your usual gloves, as long as the latter are not too tight. These gloves can also be used on their own, for bicycling or on foot for hikes or simple jaunts around town. Truly tough, they’ll be your faithful companion throughout your various wintertime activities.
The cold doesn’t always announce its arrival and isn’t limited to wintertime. You may need some protection from it on chilly mornings or evenings, or even in the daytime when the weather proves to be particularly unpleasant (wind, clouds, etc.).

5_DRYTECH™ – Weatherproof / breathable and windproof membrane developed by FIVE specifically for two-wheeled vehicles. Allows perspiration to evaporate, while it stops raindrops from getting into the glove. Attached to the external structure and the lining of the glove with adhesive strips, so that it really stays put.
5_WarmTech™ – Specific 3-D polyester fiber, developed by FIVE, based on our experience in bike riding, to thermally insulate and protect from the cold. Placed between the breathable, weatherproof membrane and internal lining of the glove, this synthetic fiber traps the most effective of all insulating: air (and the natural heat from the hand)! Available in different densities and weights adapted to the different areas of the glove.
AirGO PROTECH® – A protective shell crafted by FIVE, with a trade-marked design, offering superior ergonomic and protective qualities, which includes an air inlet to promote ventilation of the hand.
Airprene® – Ultra-stretch polymer foam that offers excellent support, with a microcellular structure and perforations that ensure optimal air and moisture flow. We use it most often for the support and breathability it provides on the wristband.
Anti-twist ties – An element connecting the little and ring fingers, to stop the little finger from being x away from the hand in the event of a fall. Made from leather, in an accordion shape (a FIVE innovation) on our Racing gloves, in order to limit the range of motion without being constricting.
AX® Suede – A synthetic material made from polyester microfiber. An alternative to suede leather that offers the advantage of being machine washable. Designed to enhance functions such as dexterity, flexibility, skid resistance, moisture management, etc. Comes in many varieties, with many possible applications.
Bemberg™ / Micro Bemberg™ – An artificial textile fiber obtained from natural materials, including cellulose from a variety of botanical sources, and featuring a silky texture, used as a lining inside gloves in order to offer a pleasant and comfortable contact zone.
Carbon PVC – A protective element consisting of a carbon sheet between two layers of PVC, which gives it an optimal firmness/flexibility ratio. We often include a carbon PVC shell at the hypothenar, which we also call a palm «slider».
Carbon Thermoset – Thermoset carbon passed through an autoclave, originating from Italy. Used in aeronautics, Formula 1, and Moto GP. Used in the protective shells of our high-end Racing style, the RFX Race. Offers high skid resistance, extremely light weight, and an exceptional level of protection.
Cat Eye™ – A polyester-based synthetic fabric with a structured upper surface.
Clarino® – A synthetic material that emulates natural suede leather, used on the palm side for its comfort, skid resistance, and excellent grip. Machine washable.
Clear Vision Pad™ – A micro-terry cloth fabric panel that allows you to wipe off your helmet’s visor or mask while riding. (A FIVE brand name)
CONNECTION KIT – Optional cable-connection kit that allows for the connection of FIVE HG heated gloves to the battery or cigarette lighter socket on the motorcycle.
Cordura® Stretch – Cordura®. A heavy-duty fabric that offers elastic qualities in its Stretch version.
DUAL CONTROL – Heating control system using a single button (implemented on the new generation of FIVE HG heated gloves) that allows for simultaneous control of the heating level in both gloves with a single button on the right hand, since both gloves are wirelessly connected.
Embossed – A textured effect that highlights a decorative element (logo or other).
ERGO PROTECH® – A protective shell crafted by FIVE, with a trademarked design, that can be visible or concealed under fabric or leather, offering superior ergonomic and protective qualities. Available in one-piece or double versions. The single-shell TPR versions include an internal honeycombed structure for optimal shock absorption. (A FIVE brand name)
GORE-TEX® GRIP Fully bonded – A weatherproof/breathable benchmark membrane offering superior weather-resistance and breathability, featuring the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY ™ pledge. Fully molds to the shape of the palm for exceptional user comfort and enhanced touch sensitivity.

GUTTERMANN® – A stitching thread originating from Germany. Used on our high-performance gloves due to its superior tear resistance and ability to limit the risk of cuts in the event of an accident.
HG / Heating Technology – Heating glove. Heating technology. A glove that is heated by resistors and either a self-contained battery or mini-cigarette lighter power cord. It’s possible to adjust the level of heat by favoring the perceived temperature or the battery life. (A FIVE brand name)
HIPORA® – A weatherproof/breathable membrane offering excellent weather-resistance and breathability.
Hypothenar – A part of the hand that includes a group of muscles that govern the movements of the little finger.
KEVLAR® – A synthetic fiber that is extremely resistant to tearing, perforation, and skidding, made from aramid resin. This high level of toughness makes it a material used in, as one example, the manufacture of bullet-proof vests.
KEVLAR® stretch – Kevlar® fiber featuring elastic qualities. Leather / Goat – Leather used to make our gloves, due to its superior suppleness.
Leather / Cowhide – Leather used to make our gloves, due to its superior toughness and durability.
Leather / Digital – Leather whose surface is laser-embossed to create a multitude of tiny prints to enhance grip on the controls in wet weather.
Leather / Full-grain – Leather that has its upper layer intact, thus featuring all the natural irregularities of the animal hide.
Lycra® – A synthetic fiber with elastic properties. We use it in the areas that require perfect elasticity, such as finger contours or the wrist opening.
Memory foam – A material made of viscoelastic foam that recovers its original shape when it is deformed. We use it in the zones that require impact absorption or as a comfort element.
Mesh Fabric – A honeycombed fabric that eases airflow.
Mesh Fabric 3D – A honeycombed fabric that eases airflow, with cells that feature a bulky texture.
Metacarpals – The set of bones that form the structure of the palm of the hand, located between the fingers and the wrist.
Nanofront® – A premium material from Japan, introduced by FIVE within the palm of our high-end motocross gloves, chosen for its exceptional anti-skid, slimness, suppleness, moisture absorption, and thermal barrier properties. Made up of fibers measuring 700 nanometers in diameter.
Nubuck – A leather finish that features a velvety effect obtained through scraping / polishing of its upper surface.
Over Size Cuff – A zipper adjustment system that allows you to expand your glove’s cuff so that it more easily covers your jacket sleeve.
One Way Stretch™ – Stretch material that is inserted at the fourchettes zone (between fingers) of some models for optimal flexibility.
Palm reinforcement – Leather, fabric, or PU Grip elements that are designed to enhance the comfort of the glove on the palm side, its grip, and its chafe resistance.
Primaloft® – The best alternative to eiderdown, without its drawbacks. A high-performance thermal insulation material made from a trademarked synthetic microfiber. Developed in 1983 for the U.S. Army as an alternative to goose down, synthetic, insulating, and water-resistant. Offers a high level of comfort in cold weather by retaining the hand’s natural heat. Available in different varieties and densities.
PU – Polyurethane. A flexible plastic material.
PU GRIP – A Polyurethane panel whose surface features hollow and textured dots that give it excellent grip in wet conditions.material.
Pull’N’Ride™ – A pull-tab that makes slipping on a glove easier. (A FIVE brand name)
PVC – Polyvinyl chloride. A highly stable plastic material that exists in rigid or flexible forms.
Reflective – Reflective elements that mirror headlight brightness, to make motorcylists visible to others on the road during night-time riding.
Spandex™ – A Lycra®-based synthetic material, renowned for its elasticity. Used to enhance elasticity over a specific part of the glove.
Spandex™ 4-Way – A Lycra®-based synthetic material, renowned for its elasticity. Stretches in 4 different directions (up-down and left-right). Used to enhance the overall elasticity of the glove.
SuperFabric® – A material that is highly resistant to skids and to sharp or pointed elements, made of a fabric base whose surface is covered with a multitude of textured resin dots that form a protective barrier. It is also weatherproof and breathable. We use it mostly on our high-performance gloves.
SYNTECH SKIN™ – A synthetic material that offers a look and feel similar to natural leather, but with superior cut and tear resistance properties.
Synthetic Leather – For FIVE, a fine substitute for natural suede leather. Used mainly on the palm side due to its elasticity, durability, and comfort. Machine washable. A vegan material.
Thermo + – An innovative FIVE concept in winter glove insulation that reduces heat loss between the fingers and offers up to 20% thermal gain. Unlike in classic glove construction, the area between the fingers hosts insulation that is equivalent to that on the topside of the hand and not the thinner insulation on the palm. The resulting insulation creates a more efficient thermal barrier that keeps the hand’s natural heat inside the glove.
Thenar – The rounded, muscular mound on the upper part of the hand, underneath the thumb.
Touch Screen™ – The inclusion of elements that allow for the handling of touchscreens without removing your glove. It is most often found on the index or the index finger and thumb, depending on the particular style of glove. (A FIVE brand name)
TPR – Thermo-Propylene Rubber. A material that can be molded or extruded above its melting point. Used as a decorative or protective element on our gloves.
TPU – Thermo-polyurethane. A plastic material that can be variably firm or flexible, obtained through thermo-molding. We use it for some of our protective shells.
V-Entrance™ – A specific method of assembling the wristband elements, developed by FIVE to make it easier to slip on the glove. (A FIVE brand name)
Vegan Friendly – A synthetic glove that contains no elements of animal origin in its composition.
Velcro – A contact closure system using tiny hooks and textile loops, commonly known as «scratch» in French.
VIBRA-LESS™ – Anti-vibration pads integrated into the palm, to reduce any vibration felt at the controls.
Water-repellent fabric – Fabric with a texture that allows water droplets to slip over its surface and thus slow their penetration into the glove.
WP – Weatherproof. A glove that features a waterproof, breathable membrane and can be used in the rain, because it keeps hands dry.
