Invite guests to play on Thursday, October 24th for only $75 plus tax per guest. What a great way to end the golf season and have your guests enjoy the beautiful Loch Lloyd Country Club.
RAKING BUNKERS
Raking Bunkers is not just a courtesy but a MANDATORY responsibility for ALL players. Failure to rake bunkers is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
REPAIRING BALL MARKS
Players must repair their ball marks on every green. It is good practice to not only repair your ball mark, but to seek out additional ball marks on the green to repair.
PARINING UP ON GOLF CARTS
Please continue to pair up on golf carts. All members, regardless of whether you are using one of Loch Lloyd’s golf carts or your own personal golf cart, you should pair up when applicable. Two carts per foursome and if you are a five some, there should be no more than three carts in your group.
GOLF SHOP HOURS OF OPERATION
The Golf Shop hours will begin to change throughout the autumn months and October will be the first of the months that they change.
September hours of operation will be 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
See you on the first tee,

GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT Grant Suderman
Dear Members,
Since day one as the leader of golf maintenance, I have put an emphasis on improving fairway conditions. Inherited dead or declined turf was never acceptable and we will exhaust all options to prevent any such conditions. Although we understand there are areas that require additional attention, we’re excited to see improved conditions from our efforts. This is illustrated in the aerials of #16 below. We will continue emphasizing high quality fairway conditions moving forward. Listed below are implemented changes to the fairway management program.
Chemical/Fertilization – Sustainable programs were implemented including proper preemergent applications and a transition to a safe granular fertilization program
Irrigation – All irrigation heads were audited and properly managed to provide the most accurate amount of water that our irrigation system allows. We make changes daily to provide healthy yet firm conditions
Mowing Height of Cut (HOC) – We have maintained our HOC at a height that can withstand traffic while still providing quality playability.
Aerification – We have selectively aerified fairways during the growing season. Expect more aerification in the future to dethatch turf and break up compacted soils
Drainage – Since 2021 we have installed over 13,000 linear ft. of fairway drainage inhouse. Installing drainage to these historically wet areas has improved the golf course in multiple ways. By promoting water percolation through the soil profile, it has improved playability with better turf quality and firmer conditions. It has also allowed carts additional access off paths due to the course draining faster after rain events. Additionally, preventing unnecessary damage from traffic where areas remained saturated.
The picture on the left is from July of 2019. The dark brown areas are winter kill where proper drainage did not exist. Drainage was installed on this hole in February of 2024. The picture on the right was taken in September 2024. There are no visible scars from poor drainage and the fairway is healthy due to the changes to the program.
Thank you for your support as we remain committed to providing Loch Lloyd Country Club with the best golfing conditions in Kansas City.

LLLGA INFORMATION
As mentioned last month, we are winding down this year’s LLLGA season. Sign-up is open for our October 15th Closing Day, which consists of an afternoon scramble team event, followed by dinner and a quick meeting. Even if you’re not available to play golf, we’d love to have all LLLGA members join us for dinner. You can sign up for golf and dinner, golf only or dinner only in the Loch Lloyd app. All options are available when you select the event using Quick Action/Golf Events on the app.
At the closing meeting, next year’s LLLGA Executive Board will be voted in. Up for vote are candidates for Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and 9-hole Coordinator. A nominating committee consisting of Amy Walleck, Lori McConnell, Kelly Arnold, Kim Coughlin and Ruth Newby are working on identifying candidates for those roles. The names of the nominees, who will have agreed to accept these positions, will be posted in the locker room two weeks before our meeting. Amy Walleck, who is our current Vice President, will assume the role of President. I will move to an advisory position as past president.
We still have a few play days left before our Closing Day. Hopefully the weather will hold up for us to enjoy these final play days of our 2024 season!
PLAY DAYS:
18-holes: October 1st, 8th and 15th (Closing Day)
9-holes: October 2nd and 9th
I wanted to take a moment to thank the Loch Lloyd golf professionals, who hosted this year’s Brigadoon, and the amazing staff and teams who helped put it together, including the Golf Shop, Food and Beverage, Events and the Brigadoon Committee. Participants included 27 Loch Lloyd members and 53 guests. I’m certain all who participated can cite their favorite moments and takeaways from the event, and there were quite a few! Some of mine included the chip shot onto the inflatable (nope, didn’t make it L), the massage gun (can’t wait to use it), the portable fan (used to combat the humidity!), the omelet station, brownies and dark chocolate salted caramel bites (YUM!!). Maybe next year, more Loch Lloyd ladies will be available to invite guests and enjoy the 2025 Brigadoon!
