Editor’s note— As you may notice, the format of this issue is slightly different, and there are two very good reasons for this. First, on February 9, 2008, Five to Nine celebrated it’s first birthday with a gallery show at Umber˚ Studios in Minneapolis, MN, and rather than simply post images of the material in the show, we felt it best to show the work in the gallery setting. The work is there, and we’ve tried our best to show every piece in the show, though it might be partially covered by someone standing in the way. Second, 2008 marks a slight shift in its production. While the PDF itself will remain the focus, we have three guest editiors this year that may mix things up. Karl Frankowski, Damien Correll and Eighthourday (husband/wife duo Nathan Strandberg & Katie Kirk). have each has been given an issue/ theme that they will curate and design and part of the design includes choosing the format size. Now that the basics are taken care of, we can start breaking the rules we’ve made for ourselves. Finally, thank you for all the support that you have given us over the last year. Here’s to a fantastic 2008. All the best, Peter Skwiot Smith

Five to Nine is published by SkwiotSmith, and is curated&designed by Peter Skwiot Smith. http://www.fivetoninemagazine.com/ http://www.skwiotsmith.com/ Issue eight’s title is borrowed from the song “Image Change” by Elastica. Cover photo by Karl Frankowski.
