Rome ITALY

Rome is a treasure trove of masterpieces, from cultural gems to great paintings and sculptures, as well as ambitious modern architecture mixed with classical palazzos and villas - this is a city that has it all and is more than happy to flaunt it. Visits to the Colosseum, the Forum Romanum as well as the Pantheon should be on the top of any visitor’s list. Off the main tourist track, you’ll find places like the Roman houses under the Church of St John and St Paul, as well as the

Via Appia, boasting numerous beautiful ruins along its path. Similarly, a visit to Rome should not be without a trip to The Vatican City. Gaze at the truly breath-taking Basilica of St Peter and the Sistine Chapel with its world-famous painted ceilings. See if you can spot the Pope from the Square of St Peter. Around the Via Veneto, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, you’ll find plenty of luxurious boutiques and delightful cafÊs where you can grab a cup of Italian coffee,

between shopping endeavours. For a green escape, head to the Villa Borghese. A quaint park with lots of trees, ruins and of course the actual Villa Borghese. In the western end of the park, you can look out across the city from the Pincian Hill.

Hotel Villa Glori ROME An enchanting 4-star hotel styled in modern design with quaint Edwardian references, the Villa Glori invites you to enjoy the Eternal City from its very heart, just a few steps from lots of cultural sites. Built in the early 20th century and located in the old “Little London area, adjacent to the Tiber River, a stay in the Villa

Glori lets you experience a more poetic side of the Italian capital. Decorated in warm, retro tones and featuring comfortable furniture, you can pretend that you’re walking in the footsteps of some of the many British painters and writers that have come to Rome over the centuries seeking inspiration among the

palazzos, piazzas and ancient ruins. Today, the location of the hotel means that you’re only a short distance from the MAXXI National Museum of 21st Century Arts, the Auditorium Parco della Musica concert venue, as well as the Teatro Olimpico, providing you with plenty of cultural things to take in right at your doorstep. Immediately south of the hotel, just a whizz away via the metro system, you’ll find the Piazza del Popolo where such sights as the Trevi Fountain, the Villa Borghese Park and lots of cathedrals and churches can be found. When you return to the hotel in the evening, you can unwind in the bar with a cool drink or cocktail while reminiscing about the adventures of the day.

Tuscany ITALY

Home to both sprawling urban centres and tranquil pastoral hills, Tuscany is a region full of Italian culture, history and flavours. From the impressive cavalcade of palazzos, stunning domes and romantic cobbled streets in Florence, to the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the rural landscape of olive groves, fertile fields and vineyards in the southern parts, this is a part of Italy where holidaymakers can fill their boots with amazing adventures and experiences. The cultural heart of Tuscany is undoubtedly

Florence, which is said to be the birthplace of the Renaissance. Here, visitors can marvel at invaluable pieces of art produced by Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelango, while being surrounded by the beautifully preserved medieval buildings that abound in the UNESCO Heritage Site-listed centre of the city. Take a couple of hours out of your itinerary to wander through the vast collection of Renaissance masterpieces at the Uffizi, or head to the Galleria dell’Accademia where you can see the famous

statue of David by Michelangelo. After this, walk along the Arno River until you come to the Ponte Vecchio. Strolling across this bridge, with the old shops and buildings aligning it, will give you the impression that you’ve travelled back in time. Further afield you’ll find the charming towns of Pisa and Livorno, where you can explore the medieval legacy of the notorious Medicis further, as well as sample lots of great Tuscan food in one of the many restaurants that abound in this enchanting part of the world.
