FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
In 1971, brothers Wayne and Earl Fletcher had a vision of owning a business, so on a wing and a prayer they mortgaged their homes and took ownership of an antiquated mill that once served as a blacksmith shop. Many of the simpler items which the Fletcher brothers began manufacturing, including wooden nickels, tool handles and toy parts, are still being made today. Maine Wood Concepts Sawmill
Today the company employs around 100 workers and their family of businesses include Fletchers' Mill, Maine Wood Turning which specializes in custom wood turnings, moldings and finishing, and Lutz File & Tool Company which makes wooden file handles. As Doug Fletcher likes to say, "From raw logs to the finished product the entire process is done in house and under a watchful eye."

FOREST TO TABLE
One of the newest trends for restaurants is farm to table, offering locally grown food directly from small farmers to family and restaurant tables. Fletchers' Mill has used this same approach for many years, only forest to table. All of our wood is from sustainably harvested sources and all of our sawdust and scrap wood is recycled and used in a variety of products, including wood pellets used to heat many New England Homes. 2

SUSTAINABLY HARVESTED WOOD
It all starts with the quality of our wood, which we purchase from sustainable wood suppliers. By having our own sawmill we are able to utilize each tree to it’s full potential by sawing specifically sized squares, based on which of our products we are manufacturing. The wood is then dried in our kilns to the right moisture content to ensure it won't warp or crack. All of our sawdust and scrap wood is recycled and used in a variety of products, including wood pellets, heating many New England Homes.

Fletchers' Mill pepper mills are fitted with a stainless steel two-step mechanism which first cracks the peppercorns to release their natural oils and flavors, and then grinds the peppercorns to your chosen consistency. Fletchers' Mill salt mills have an adjustable nylon crushing system. And, our pepper and salt mill mechanisms include a LIFETIME GUARANTEE. Pepper mills can only be used for pepper and salt mills can only be used for salt.
LOCKING CROWN NUT
Counter-clockwise for coarse grinds, clockwise for fine grinds.
Our pepper mills offer you over 33 grind settings. As you turn the top crown nut clockwise the grind gets finer and finer. Counterclockwise for coarser grinds. Fletchers' Mill has the only Locking Crown Nut that locks in your choice of grinds and doesn't change until you change it. This allows for consistent results every time you use your mill. Fletchers' Mill salt mills also have the Locking Crown Nut for variable salt from coarse to fine.

Our Silicone Tool handles are crafted in Maine from solid, premium New England Hardwoods and are finished with a food safe mineral oil. The silicone heads are made in the USA, BPAfree and are molded from flexible, durable silicone that will not absorb flavors. Heat resistant to 500 degrees, the non-abrasive design is stain resistant and safe for all non-stick cookware. To clean, remove the silicone head. Silicone heads are dishwasher safe. Clean the handles with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Do not put handle in dishwasher.
