The story of FlexQube began over 30 years ago in central Sweden when three boys developed a love for playing with Lego®. As they grew up and started their professional careers that love of being able to build something together never left them.
While working for a global manufacturer of construction equipment, one of the founders noticed that materials management wasn’t keeping up with modern demands. The industry norm of welded solutions wasn’t adaptable enough for the constant change that the industry was experiencing. The FlexQube idea was born.
FlexQube’s business idea is to develop and offer a flexible system with few standardised components for safe, ergonomic and cost-efficient logistics. Since 2010, we’ve helped over 700 factories and manufacturers worldwide create a more productive, profitable, safe, and ergonomic material handling and flow. MODULAR & ROBUST HANGING SOLUTIONS.
FlexQubes flexible and modular concept allows you to design and build solutions optimised for your needs quickly. Hanging carts can be used to transport a wide arrange of materials of various sizes and weights, and each process has different requirements, which is reflected in the modular options. A FlexQube hanging cart consists of three different modules:
1. Hangers – When designing a hanging cart, you always start with the hangers for which the following points need to be taken into consideration: • Weight Capacity: Depending on the required load capacity, length, and transportation method, we have different options to choose from. • Length: How long does the hanger need to be? Tube hangers can be cut to any length, while the heavy-duty hangers come in 7 cm increments. • Numbers & Spacing: How many hangers do you need, and how much spacing do you need between them? • Stop or Angle: To prevent parts from falling off, it’s common to have a slight angle on the hanger or add a rubber cap on the end of it. • Protection: If you’re transporting sensitive parts, tube hangers can be fitted with PVC or Foam protection.
2. Transportation modules including casters and anything from a handlebar for a simple push cart to smart building blocks for self driving carts and everything in between.
3. The framework and hangers can be adapted and reinforced to optimize the cart for your case. The main deciding factors are weight capacity, size, and transportation method.

PICKING THE RIGHT SOLUTION. ANALYSE YOUR NEEDS Before you start the process of selecting a cart, make sure to properly analyse what you need from the cart and ask yourself the following questions: •
How would you like to transport the cart?

At what frequency do you need to transport the parts?
•
How many parts per cart?
•
Weight of load?
NICE TO HAVE VS NEED TO HAVE In the end cost is always a key aspect of any project and in many cases you can save both time and money by doing a proper analysis of your needs at the start of a project. Extra features are always nice but do you really need them? Do you need to be able to move the cart manually? Do you need a 1000 kg load capacity? ? Does the hanger need foam protection? In the end it’s always a trade off between price and functionality and that is important to keep in mind from the get go. In the example below Cart A is about half the price of Cart B.
