Professional Development Event:

Celebrating Women's History Month

On March 30th, the Flagstaff Young Professionals held the first of their Professional Development Events of the year. Professional Development Events match community leaders and aspiring professionals together as an opportunity to learn from a mentor first-hand experience.

In recognition of the National Women's History Month, the panel of the event was chosen to feature notable female leaders from northern Arizona's business and non-profit/public sectors. Guest mentors included 2023 ATHENA Award recipients Jenny Siess, DVM/Owner of Westside Veterinary Clinic and Ross Shaefer, Executive Director of Flagstaff Shelter Services. Also featured were Katie Wittekind, Facilitator, Coach, Strategist, & Writer for Lancaster Leadership; Heather Dalmolin, CEO & General Manager of Mountain Line and Terry Madeksza, Executive Director or Flagstaff Downtown Business Alliance—all nominees for this year's ATHENA Award.

Part of the mission of FYP is to build relationships between current and future leaders. By bringing together aspiring female professionals with those who have charted the course, FYP will help ensure that emerging female professionals will long have a place at the forefront of northern Arizona's business community.
