Chamber Represents Military Affairs in Washington D.C.
On June 3rd, 2019 Chamber President Julie Pastrick traveled to Washington D.C. primarily on military affairs for Camp Navajo & United States Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station.
As President of NAMAC, Pastrick delivered requests for a carve out of 1,000 acres of land within the 28,000 which comprises Camp Navajo - to be set aside for commercial development. Businesses are interested! Perhaps on a service contract basis rather than army corp leases we will have more luck locating forest products and research and development type industries to create employment for local businesses.
Military Council Presidents from Yuma 50, Mesa Industry, and Defense Council also attended joint meetings with Senator Martha McSally, Senator Kyrsten Sinema, Representatives Andy Biggs, Ruben Gallegos, Ann Kirkpatrick, Debbie Lesko, House Armed Services Committee professional staff, the Assistant Secretary of Military Sustainment, high level National Guard Bureau leadership and the Marine Corps CyberSpace Command.
