Military Academic PATHWAY PROGRAM
Free* fast-tracked university entry program for veterans
About the program
The Military Academic Pathway Program (MAPP) is open to Australian Defence Force veterans, including personnel still serving, those in the process of transition, and for people who have already left the military.
As military experience qualifies you for entry into the MAPP, you don’t need to worry if you have not had any prior study experience.
The MAPP is a largely self-paced program that can be completed 100% online. For students wanting an on-campus experience, optional opportunities will be available to meet with teachers in-person at Flinders’ Bedford Park campus during the program.
The flexible MAPP format means there is no need to take leave from work to complete the program, as it can be easily fit around work and life’s other commitments.
“If you’re not too sure if the MAPP or university is for you I can only say give it a go, because it’s not as hard as you think it is. If I can do it, anyone can do it.”
Corey Hayward Bachelor of Health Sciences/MAPP alumni
“The MAPP was beyond my expectations. I really enjoyed it.”
Blake Groves Bachelor of Exercise Science/MAPP alumni
What will I learn?
By completing the MAPP, you will learn essential study skills including academic writing, referencing, critical thinking, effective communication, and numeracy to set you up for success at university.
You will also be introduced to academic staff and university support services to help you develop a sense of belonging at Flinders and to give you exposure to the different disciplines the university has to offer.
Study following the MAPP
Following successful completion of the MAPP, you will be eligible for admission to more than 30 Flinders University undergraduate degrees.
The MAPP will also link you with the Australian Student Veterans Association (Flinders Chapter) which provides veterans with a supportive community of like-minded students.
“The support staff that work on MAPP are amazing. I couldn’t have asked for more.”
Laksh Bains Bachelor of Behavioural Science/MAPP alumni
