Strategic Partnerships
Research Commercialisation
We support the development of strategic partnerships and collaborations with industry, government and other research organisations.
We convert new ideas, innovations and basic research into valuable and useful commercial products.
The Strategic Partnerships team identify opportunities for research income and leverage external opportunities to increase research outputs. We promote the University’s research capabilities and bring researchers together for collaborative proposals and projects.
The Research Commercialisation team works closely with researchers to assess invention potential and perform due diligence. We engage with industry to determine if they will adopt the invention, or not, and under what circumstances. We seek funding to further develop the technology and complete proof of concept demonstrations, and pursue commercialisation deals for the technology to be used commercially.

We provide high quality research administrative support that enables the College and its researchers to reach their research goals. College Research Support staff are embedded within each College and provide front line, bespoke support to the College and its researchers under the strategic direction of the Dean of Research. Where needed we are a conduit for information and requests for support between the College and other specialist RDS members or central portfolio support. It is our role to support the improvement of the research performance and reputation of the College and so the University.
