In mid-August, Thomas Verschatse was appointed as sales manager for the Belux at parquet producer and distributor Lamett Europe. He will join the sales team in Belgium and, together with Elewout Decock and Isabel Slambrouck, further strengthen Lamett’s position. Thomas Verschatse has already worked successfully in flooring. In January of this year, he left his position of country manager with the Unilin group (which includes Quick-Step) after over 20 years. After a short spell at US Floors (Coretec), he is now sales manager for the Belux at Lamett Europe. Thomas Verschatse already feels at home with Lamett: ‘At Lamett I see a highly ambitious company. The company stands for basic values such as respect and communication. Other basic features to extend the growth are also definitely in evidence, namely quality, service, and innovation. I thank all the colleagues for their warm welcome and I look forward to working with them.’ Pieter-Jan Dendooven, commercial manager at Lamett Europe, reciprocates that positive feeling: ‘Things clicked very quickly between us all. Both as a person and with his knowledge of sales and the industry, Thomas fits into our team perfectly. We operate with a simple structure in which Thomas forms an essential link with his vast experience.’
Husqvarna Construction launches next generation battery power cutter
With K1 PACE, Husqvarna takes a big step forward and offers customers a high power battery cutter that can handle the heavy duty jobs. This is the first product to be launched on the company's new battery system, PACE. “What we are presenting today is a breakthrough in the market for power cutters. We are extremely proud to introduce a high power battery cutter that fully supports the transition to low-carbon economy the construction industry needs," says Mattias Holmdahl, Global Product Manager Power Cutters at Husqvarna Construction. With more than 60 years of experience as a power cutter manufacturer and with a leading position in handheld cutters, Husqvarna Construction has the expertise it takes to lead the development from petrol to battery powered equipment. With K1 PACE customers can expect power and performance equivalent to petrol-powered cutters with all the additional benefits battery powered equipment brings to both operators and the environment. “We see an increasing number of construction companies striving for carbon-neutral workplaces and as a leading supplier we feel a responsibility to contribute, together with our partners and customers, towards greater sustainability.” The PACE battery system can be utilised for more machines as the battery-powered family expands. In addition to the power cutters and battery system, diamond blades in 12" and 14"/300 and 350 mm have been optimised for battery operation. The machine is also equipped with X-Halt® brake function capable of stopping the rotation of a blade in a fraction of a second for enhanced safety. K1 PACE is shown at World of Concrete in the US from 8 to 10 of June and for those who have the opportunity to try the machine, Mattias Holmdahl promises a whole new experience. “We know what it takes to do the high demanding jobs done, and we do not compromise on quality and safety. With K1 PACE, customers get a high-performance battery power cutter that provides zero direct emissions. They can expect lower vibrations, smoother cutting and that the machine's low weight and optimal centre of gravity help reduce the strain on their body.” K1 PACE will be demonstrated by Husqvarna Construction and the sales start will take place in stages during the second half of the year, starting in the Nordic countries. More technical data will be released at the start of sales.
Lindura by MEISTER:
Innovative wood flooring in an innovative 3D-printed house Germany’s first ever 3D-printed house was recently opened in the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Beckum. The floor in the innovative building was sourced from local manufacturer MEISTERWERKE. The innovative Lindura wood flooring from MEISTER was chosen for the living areas and bedrooms in the recently opened first 3D-printed house in Germany, which was built entirely using 3D printing technology. The two-storey detached house with around 160 square metres of living space was not built using conventional means, but printed by the company PERI using a 3D concrete printer. The building was designed by a local engineering and architectural firm on behalf of Hous3Druck GmbH. “We are delighted that our most innovative flooring, Lindura, has been used in this pioneering house of the future,” explains Guido Schulte, Managing Director of MEISTERWERKE. Minimal walls meet natural floors The high-tech wood flooring, in the naturally oiled, rustic oak variant, is a perfect fit for the innovative house: the indent-resistant wood surface has a warm, natural effect and strikes a pleasant contrast with the
