WE THINK SUSTAINABLY THAT’S WHY WE’VE ADDED THE EMISSION-FREE PRODUCTS OF OUR PARTNER VERMEISTER TO OUR WHOLESALE PARQUET RANGE
From seventy to a thousand square metres of parquet per day. In 1993, with an intrinsic passion for wood, Willem Kerkhofs, together with his wife Petra, started a parquet factory and wholesale business in Peer (B). Kerkhofs Parket has grown from a small family business to a major player on the B2B market.

Like father, like son. Willem Kerkhofs is totally convinced of that. Willem’s great-grandfather was a forest developer and handed on his passion to his son, who started a sawmill. Willem’s father had his own wood trade and planing mill where Willem himself spent many hours working and acquired his ongoing interest in wood. This passion laid the foundation for Kerkhofs Parket. No request whatsoever is too way out
Initially, two people took care of the production. Today, Kerkhofs Parket comprises an enthusiastic team of eighteen people and they have a strong European network. Most clients are retailers, but no fewer than nine hundred are from all over Europe. ‘No request or idea is too much to ask. Nothing makes us happier than meeting everyone’s parquet wishes with our customised work.’
Bespoke flooring
Kerkhofs Parket is well known for its customised floorboards. Strips, herringbone, Hungarian point, and Viennese point are a selection from the range. Moreover, their extensive assortment consists of various style panels such as Versailles or Chantilly. Furthermore, their wide range of 43 wood sorts leaves nothing to be desired. The wood specialists from Kerkhofs Parket like to help clients choose the most suitable wood sort: traditional oak, afrormosia, zebrano, hardwood, or softwood. ‘Oak is extremely popular in the Benelux. 90% of orders consist of oak, whilst the production of exotic wood amounts to a mere 10%. We choose each wood sort carefully with an eye to the PEFC label, the quality label for sustainable forest management.’
Growth and innovation
Unlike its competitors, Kerkhofs Parket manufactures only solid parquet floors. Due to their unique experience and know-how, this is still a growing market for them. Kerkhofs Parket is not only growing as a manufacturer, but also they are making huge progress as a wholesaler. The parquet wholesale has a wide range of multilayer floorboards in diverse wood sorts and sizes and concentrates on all finish products to go on top of and under the floors. Lecol, Wakol, Osmo, Bona, Woca, and Rubio are some of the brands which they sell. Their range of finish products includes adhesive and skirting boards, but also air humidifiers and other products essential for the maintenance of wooden floors. Innovation is vital for a company wanting to maintain a strong position in the market. Kerkhofs Parket replaces its machines and machinery within five years so that they always have state-of-theart machinery to help them deliver high-quality end products.
‘We strive for new synergies to help us constantly improve ourselves and our end product. For instance, we’re now working together with Vermeister, a specialist in ecological products. We think sustainability is absolutely essential, it’s a way of life. With our partnership with Vermeister we’re making our contribution.’
Vermeister
Just like Kerkhofs Parket, Vermeister started as a small family business with the development of products for fitting, treating, and maintaining wooden floors. Vermeister soon developed into a global brand since they were the first ones in the world to launch an emission-free product of the highest quality on the market for the treatment of wooden floors. Due to the innovative nature of the product, they have won a place on the ‘Super compliant architectural coatings manufactures list’.
‘We’re proud that we, as the exclusive dealer in the Benelux, could stand together with Vermeister in September at the InCoDa (NL) trade fair. In the wood sector you have to work as sustainably as possible. That’s why the Vermeister products, and especially the “Zero Concept” product range, fit in perfectly with our corporate philosophy.’
ZERO CONCEPT
Each product from the ‘Zero Concept’ series is made from sustainable raw materials and have very high mechanical performances. With the ‘Emicode EC1’ certificate, the products drastically reduce the emissions of solvents and other volatile organic substances in the living and working environment.’
Welcome to Patrick De Coker
‘We think it’s fantastic to meet people who are just as enthusiastic about wood as we are. That’s how Patrick De Coker has joined us. With over twenty years of experience in the parquet industry and his expert knowledge of abrasives and floor pads, he is a strong addition to the Kerkhof Parket team and joins us as agent for the Belgian market. Welcome, Patrick!’
