Guillaume Pasteur (Eurotec - D) Deputy Commercial Manager France

"Striving for the highest level of technology at the right price in Europe”

Eurotec is a company founded in 1999 that develops, manufactures and markets products for the construction industry. It is active in the timber frame, deck construction and concrete fastening sectors, and in 23 years has built up a solid reputation among professionals in Europe.

In the area of fastening technology, Eurotec is gaining ground, especially since it started producing a range of wood construction screws on its first machine in Hagen, Germany, in January 2013. In the meantime, the machine park in Germany has expanded to eight.

We spoke to Guillaume Pasteur, deputy commercial manager for France, about the specific plans for floor technology (and thus the adjustable floor plots). The common thread of the conversation: Eurotec, as a company, strives for the very highest technicity of its products in Europe and couples that with a right price.

"If we are talking specifically about terrace construction, you will notice that we supply everything from the adjustable floor supports to the clips for invisible fixing. These are suitable for use with all kinds of floors, from wood to composite to ceramic. Our products are manufactured entirely from polypropylene on our own machines, with direct injection, and are characterised by the highest possible level of technology, which is constantly being honed. In a very competitive market, we bring products on the market with great durability, which are resistant to all kinds of weather conditions. The word that sums it all up is quality. This is not surprising when you know that the company is run by a man who is an engineer: for someone with that background, providing the very best is simply the starting point of everything the company does, while always striving for the best value for money."

"How do we differentiate ourselves from others? Actually, the answer has already been partly given, but it should be stressed that we also strive for maximum availability of our products. These products, which must always function perfectly even under the most difficult circumstances, are embedded in a very wide range of accessories that must make the professional's life as easy as possible. For the distributor, we ensure the easiest possible management of his stocks and offer an easily manageable programme. A simple example: we pack all our floor supports in cardboard, which makes both storage and dispatch extremely simple.

Naturally, we would like to know what position Eurotec currently occupies in the market. Guillaume Pasteur does not comment on the Benelux, but explains the position in France: "In France we are number one among professionals. We deliberately chose not to do wholesale distribution here, just as we did in Germany, among other countries. We try to serve the professionals in the best possible way. Therefore, in recent years we have mainly been working on complementary accessories for the adjustable supports and we have developed aluminium base layers for the terraces. In the near future, craftsmen can expect us to go even further in this respect and to offer even more accessories and the possibility of mixing. For example, wood or composite with ceramic materials."

"Already now we are leading in many areas. Take, for example, our heights, where we start at a height of 1 cm (with Profi-line adjustable floor plots) and there are actually no height limits, thanks to the use of self-developed expansion rings, with which we can handle any height. For slopes we also have an excellent system, Nivello, with which you can handle slopes of up to 10%."

Distributors wanted

"I would also like to mention that we are looking for additional specialised distributors in Europe. We organise training courses for them in many places. These take place in our production department in Germany or at one of our existing distributors."

BUILDING PATIOS

HAS NEVER BEEN SO EASY!

WHY A EUROTEC SUBSTRUCTURE ?

Thanks to being modular, our system is the perfect solution for creating substructures for garden decking and paved patios. Our system comprises quality adjustable pedestals and matching aluminium profi les that, used together, make the perfect alternative to conventional approaches for creating quality and durable substructures. No matter whether you’re using large stone slabs, wood or WPC boards, visible or hidden fasteners - we have the right solution for every application.

ALUMINIUM SUBSTRUCTURES VISIBLE AND HIDDEN FASTENERS DECKING SCREWS

Our aluminium system profi les are dimensionally stable, have a high load-bearing capacity and are weather, UV, insect and rot resistant. The profi les’ special shape reduces the risk of the fastening screws being sheared off as a result of the decking swelling and shrinking. Our high-quality decking screws make fastening patio decking boards quick and easy work. We can also coat our screw heads in RAL colours on request.

Depending on the type of wood, patio decking boards can be fastened in a number of different ways. We offer a range of innovative solutions that meet a wide range of individual requirements and preferences for fastening your patio decking boards.

Floor pedestals play a major part in a variety of areas, and in our case we think primarily of fitting terraces. You certainly have to consider several factors, such as joint width, drainage, stability, and slope correction. Only if all this is accommodated properly are you in a position later to consider the need for maintenance, walking comfort, or the lifespan of the terrace.

Pedestals give you a simple and lightweight solution to meet the above needs. Indeed, they ensure that the planks or tiles are fitted nicely and securely next to each other and at the same time they create free space below the terrace, space which can be used in turn for elements such as pipes or cables. Moreover, the systems use open joints to ensure the best possible drainage. If the joints are closed, water could freeze, resulting in cracks.

Specific solution

Floor pedestals are also recommended for challenging settings. Think here of swimming pools or industrial settings. Each setting also requires a specific solution, where height adjustment forms a special asset. Moreover, using the latest sort of adjustable pedestals can save considerably on labour costs, even up to 50% of the ‘traditional’ hours. Obviously, there are lots of interesting products on the market, but, generally speaking, it’s best to take account of a number of features.

For instance, it’s best to choose pedestals which are modular and easy to extend. The fitting method via a special adjusting key is also important. Indeed, after the fitting, you can make adjustments without removing the top layer. Obviously, you also consider the height which can be adjusted and you check the material from which the equipment is made. Floor pedestals which are sustainable and 100% circular are obviously the ideal choice.
