Minister Allison Brinkley

Born and raised in Indianapolis Indiana, Allison Kaye Brinkley is the fourth of four children born to Thomas and Sylvia Brinkley. Sold out for life, Allison remains actively involved in her local church ministries. Realizing at an early age that there was a special calling on her life Allison actively participated in Bible Studies and Sunday school to continue to learn more about her Christian faith. Allison felt a call to ministry at the age of thirteen. She continued to be nurtured and continued to grow under the leadership of the late Rev. Ray E. Hudson, Christway Missionary Baptist Church, of Indianapolis Indiana. At the age of twenty-one, now Minister Allison Brinkley was the first woman to be licensed to preach to preach the gospel, at Christway Missionary Baptist Church.. Minister Brinkley now serves under the leadership of Dr. Ivan Douglas Hicks, at the First Baptist Church North Indianapolis, where she is active in the music ministry, and ministerial staff. Professionally, Allison Brinkley is a Licensed Real Estate Broker with the state of Indiana. Her expertise is development and revitalization of the inner city in Indianapolis. She has worked for more than ten years helping individuals achieve their dream of homeownership. Allison has studied at the University of Indianapolis, and aspires to attend Christian Theological Seminary, in the very near future. Allison graciously cares for her parents, and is actively involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews. On any given day, Minister Brinkley may have a favorite scripture, but in this season of her life she thrives on this; Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, (Hebrews 12:1 NIV)

On Your 40th Annual Day To Sister Carol Miller From Rose Marie Dennis

The History of Celestial Star Chapter #61 Order of the Eastern Star, P.H.A. Jurisdiction of Indiana Celestial Star was formed as a Chapter Under Dispensation in September, 1977. It was the newest Chapter in both the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. In November, 1977 with the assistance of our Brother Lodge, Sumner A. Furniss Lodge #61, Brother Calvin Scott and Brother Apprentis Burrus served as Worthy Patron and Associate Patron. Sister Mary Carter and Sister Valerie Billups assisted us as Worthy Matron and Associate Matron. Our Conductress and Associated Conductress were Sister Sadie Flowers and Sister Joyce Jackson. Under the watchful care of the Grand Worthy Patron John Scott and Grand Worthy Matron Inez Ingram, our first members were initiated on November 9, 1977. Under the instruction of the District Deputy Grand Matron Rosa Tootle, the chapter thrived. Sister Tootle was a wonderful and patient instructor. We began to learn and understand what it meant to be true Eastern Star. We learned the lessons of love, caring ,and living our obligations of a true Star. We learned how to correct our mistakes as we continued to strive on. In June, 1978 during the 90th Grand Session of Prince Hall Grand Chapter, held in Merriville, Indiana we were granted our Charter by the Grand Worthy Patron John Scott and given thanks and congratulations by the Grand Worthy Matron Inez Ingram. Past Grand Worthy Matron Sister Inez Ingram is our Honorary Member. She is loved by our Chapter and highly respected by all. We are blessed to have one of our Charter Members, Past Matron Mildred Germany active in our Chapter. We have two honorary members, Sister Inez Ingram-Stone, Past Grand Worthy Matron and Sister Myrtis Ross, Honorary Past Grand Matron. We have been blessed to have members of Celestial Star #61 serve as elected officers of Prince Hall Grand Chapter. Brother Lucion O’Banion, Past Grand Worthy Patron; Brother James Woodard, Past Grand Worthy Patron; Sister Brenda Berry, Honorary Past Grand Worthy Matron, Past Grand Secretary and Past Grand Treasurer; Sister Flora A. Lewis, Past Grand Treasurer. Sister Elaine Jewell-James currently serves as the Grand Associate Matron. As a growing chapter we have had our trials and tribulations and have been strong enough to bear them. We have learned that nothing runs smoothly all the time. Even a peaceful brook in the woods will have troubled waters at times. Our sisterly and brotherly love for each other helps us to weather any storm, and make out day sunny. We have been blessed with love and understanding as we “WALK IN THE LIGHT.”
