Taking a Moment to Stop and Smell the Roses with Lily the Flower Fairy Â
Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest. This is true from when you are a child all the way through adulthood. I believe this is how most people turn to the therapeutic art of gardening and as the years go on they become more interested in the idea of miniature gardening and adding creative miniscapes throughout their homes and yards.
Some people have the ability to complicate their lives by creating stress and anxiety in the most unlikely situations. When I started my journey through college, I would stress over papers, test and assignments that in the long run never affected my future the way I had convinced myself that it would. In this world, it can be hard to remember that you need to give yourself a break every once in a while. You should celebrate your victories, use your failures as lessons, and move past them. If you are a miniature gardener, you know that these gardens can be a unique way to make those celebrations a part of your home.
It is always easier said than done - however sometime we need daily reminders to stop and smell the roses. I am an extremely visual person and because of that I need to have inspirational quotes, bright flowers, and fun pictures reminding me of how good everything in this world can be. I loved it the moment I heard it: A mini fairy garden to remind us to “stop and smell the roses�.
To create something that encourages me to enjoy every moment, making sure I have created a scene special to me - that I can tie to happy memories. Then I would add a miniscape to my garden that includes Lily the Flower Fairy dressed up with her Rose Topiary off to one side. Finally, I would plant an assortment of beautiful miniature flowers - making sure that bright flowers surround Lily, the thing she loves most in the world. I believe with the serene look on her face that she is a fairy who really appreciates the little things and is at bliss while working in her fairy garden like so many of us. In addition, I will remember to include colorful decorative planters that are sprouting miniature flowers to add color and more character to my miniature gardening scene by “stopping to smell the roses�.
