OUR CAMPUS IS A
LIVING LABORATORY
“
FGCU has given me many opportunities to conduct research outside of the classroom. Now, I am working towards presenting my research at different conferences worldwide!” – Susannah Cogburn, Marine Science
FGCU expands academic facilities for two new schools THE WATER SCHOOL – Located in the
midst of Florida’s complex freshwater and saltwater systems, The Water School is uniquely positioned to explore water-based issues. The 116,000-square-foot, $58 million building is the newest and largest on campus. By taking a leadership role in this vital arena, FGCU acts as a catalyst for change in our community and throughout the world. The Water School uses a holistic approach that focuses on the environmental sciences but also draws in the social sciences, health sciences, business, and engineering.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP – In 2021, The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine ranked FGCU’s School of Entrepreneurship as the top public university undergraduate program in the state of Florida, and 29th in the nation. The university’s new entrepreneurship building, Lucas Hall, has a business incubator, flexible meeting rooms and expanded faculty collaboration space. It will be a central location for advancing the culture of entrepreneurship, business development and market analysis that are essential to growing Southwest Florida’s economy.
