MEMBERSHIP GUIDE | 2023-24

OUR MISSION

The Eagles Club is the official booster organization supporting FGCU Athletics. Financial assistance from the membership helps aid our programs, build and maintain outstanding facilities, and fund scholarships for our 15 Division I sports. In addition, membership provides opportunities to participate in exclusive social events, access to coaches and teams, as well as the intrinsic satisfaction of assisting quality young people to become future leaders.

A MESSAGE FROM KEN KAVANAGH

DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS

Thank you for your consideration of membership in the Eagles Club! We were proud to generate many 2022-23 highlights on and off our various playing venues, while adjusting expectations, schedules and loss due to Hurricane Ian.

We look back on numerous Green & Blue team and individual successes, again commencing with a 3.44 cumulative grade point average and over 6,000 community service hours. Athletically, our successes range from another NCAA opening round victory and final Top 25 national ranking for women’s basketball (the only mid-major to achieve such), three additional NCAA appearances (women’s soccer, volleyball, and men’s tennis) and six total conference championships, to two ASUN Coaches of the Year, and our latest Academic and playing All Americans (highest single year ever with four each). We are equally proud of enshrining our second Athletics Hall of Fame Class and witnessing Dana Axner (Volleyball) as our tenth Eagle enshrined into the FGCU Hall of Famethe highest honor for an FGCU student.

Each year we ask our student-athletes to give 110% of themselves both on and off the field. Likewise, our goal is to provide them with the resources needed for continued victories and celebrations. We look to you, our loyal friends and supporters to do the same by giving a 110% donation. Additionally, we continue to ask for capital investments to complete the final phases of our Division I transition facility enhancements. In the ever-changing world of intercollegiate athletics, your confidence in us provides the students with enhanced scholarships, mental wellness, and nutritional components. You make the difference! Please ask us how you can help benefit generations of future Eagles.

I feel fortunate to call so many of you friends and I truly believe our best years are ahead of us!

Wings Up, God Bless & Go Eagles!

EAGLES SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY

Membership in the Eagles Scholarship Society (ESS) is one of the most important and rewarding ways to support FGCU Athletics. Every component of the student-athlete experience is touched by the generous contributions of ESS members; including student and academic life, competition, and graduation outcomes. ESS members enjoy top level Eagles Club benefits (i.e. front row parking, access to hospitality, scholarship and other VIP invitations).

Comprised of friends of Athletics and University alumni, members are partnered with one or more selected scholarship recipients from the FGCU 15 varsity programs. Becoming an Eagles Scholarship Society member affords the opportunity to personally follow an athlete’s growth throughout his or her FGCU Eagle career, fostering a profound impact on the scholarship recipient from the first day on campus to graduation.

All-Star

“I was welcomed into an environment that challenged my academic ability to the same, if not higher, degree than my athletic ability. Both on and off the court, I learned what it meant to represent the green and blue.”

Women’s basketball’s Kate (Schrader) Bruce, baseball’s Richard Bleier and Casey Coleman, two-sport star (softball and volleyball) Cheyenne Jenks, softball’s Carmen (Paez) Jimenez, and golfer Derek Lamely made up the 2023 class in the FGCU Hall of Fame, having done their part in the Green & Blue’s first decade of existence to pave the way for the success the current Eagles are enjoying.
