T hings To Do
Unique Florida Fun
Florida’s Adventure Coast was one of the state’s earliest destinations for family vacations – and it still delights visitors today with both vintage and new attractions.
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park At the headwaters of the Weeki Wachee River, the park’s first-magnitude spring holds a mythic sight: the world-famous Weeki Wachee mermaids. For over seven decades, the mermaids have captivated audiences. Enjoy a performance, a riverboat cruise, a native animal show, and Buccaneer Bay – Florida’s only spring-fed water park.
FLG X Adventure Course - Tampa Harness up to explore nature from the treetops. Unleash your inner Tarzan or Jane while navigating ziplines, rope swings and wobbly bridges. Find fun for the whole family in this sprawling, lush aerial adventure course.
Boyett’s Citrus Grove & Attraction Part orange grove, part ice-cream parlor, and part kitschy gift shop, Boyett’s is an iconic roadside attraction near Brooksville – and it’s 100% freshsqueezed Florida fun. Did we mention there’s a dinosaur room and miniature golf? Nowhere else will you find such an eclectic and authentic old-Florida attraction to explore.
Croom Motorcycle & ATV Area Users can ride miles of trails through thrilling terrains ranging from hardwood hammocks and forests to large sand pits. Entry level trails and a young rider area make Croom ideal for all skill levels.
Parks & Preserves
Natural Places to Play
Parks, preserves, and gardens fill Florida’s
Adventure Coast. These sanctuaries of flora and fauna are ideal for your next green getaway.
Weekiwachee Preserve This nature-rich property includes over 11,000 acres of protected conservation land. Native wildlife thrives in diverse habitats ranging from pine-covered sandhills to hardwood swamps. Visitors enjoy paddling and fishing on the lakes, riding bike trails, hiking the scenic woods, and bird watching at this Great Florida Birding Trail site.
Chinsegut Conservation Center Located just north of Brooksville, Chinsegut is a true center of nature-based recreation. Visitors can explore a network of hiking trails, enjoy educational programs, traverse Florida’s largest contiguous tract of longleaf pines, and see the rare red-cockaded woodpecker.
Nature Coast Botanical Gardens The Botanical Gardens in Spring Hill is one of Hernando County’s hidden gems. The park consists of 21 themed gardens, including an Asian Tea Garden, Bromeliad Garden, Butterfly Garden, Rose Garden, Tropical Rain Garden, Secret Garden, Memorial Garden, and many more.
