Arie Vreugdenhil Cultivation Specialist Young Plants Syngenta FloriPro Services “We adhere strictly to a sophisticated process to obtain the best plants. The process leaves nothing to chance. Thanks to our years of experience, we know the best time to sow each individual variety. A computer program especially designed for this purpose provides us with support.” “When the still very young plants are large enough, they are sorted to be ‘grown on’. This is done under very precise temperature and humidity conditions. During this phase, we add growth regulators so the plants obtain optimal shape and density. We do the first phase of cultivation; our growers do the second. Together we work on a beautiful end product.” Decisive “The process contains a few decisive moments. Because the genetics of the seeds may vary, so does the duration of their growing out. This must be just right for each product, so we watch them carefully. The amount of growth regulators, the weather and transport can also affect growth. All circumstances that we monitor closely and adjust if necessary. If necessary, we move plants to other areas with different conditions.” Xtray® “For growing on and further handling, the plants are grown in our unique Xtray®. Because they are of a standard size, they can be used in virtually every machine. The Xtray® is easy to clean, so diseases and mould have no chance to appear. The smooth material prevents root damage to young plants.” “The stackable trays are very convenient for transport and fully recyclable. Both our process and the materials involved ensure top quality end products.”
