Nappy Making Kit Your nappy kit contains the following items: 1 cut of fleece/PUL to be used as the outer and water resistant layers 1 cut of bamboo velour/microchamois used as the inner fabric 1 cut of bamboo fleece – this is the absorbent layer Hook & Loop and swimwear elastic PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR BAMBOO WILL NEED TO BE HOT WASHED AND DRIED AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE USE As bamboo can shrink considerably (up to about 15%) it is recommended that you hot wash and dry your bamboo 2‐3 times before use. If only washed once, please make allowances for further shrinkage over the first few uses.

Some tips from flower child: • • • •

When making a pocket nappy (usually the easiest to start out with) don’t forget to sew the loop onto the fabric first If adapting or tracing from another nappy to make a pocket nappy, don’t forget to make an allowance for the ‘flap’ where the stuffers are inserted. By sewing the elastic onto the inner fabric your legs holes will roll out or onto the outer fabric, they will roll inwards The easiest insert to make is a bamboo trifold. Either overlock around the edges of the doubled over fabric, or if you don’t have an overlocker, turn inside out, sew around the whole rectangle leaving a 4cm (or so) gap. Turn through this gap right way out, then sew over the gap. Good luck!

Just remember, you can always email us if you need some help and we’d love to hear/see your creations.
