FISHING PARADISE

Project in 2011, Taiwan Miaoli

This project is in the time when I was third grade in university. It base in the industry housing, it needs to do a lot of research about the industry, after that design the space what they need. In this case I choose aquaculture, and express my drawing in china Ink and watercolor. And it got the quite good appraisal in final presentation. And it also one of my favorite project in these years

AQUACULTURE I choose the mullet farming in this project, after studied Cost outlay items, Growth trend and Production of pollution of the mullet farming, I tried to put the Tourism Industry in this design and improve the farming technology to lowdensity cultivation. Hope it can reduce damage to the site, and also increase the profit, for the house keeper. Finally, follow this idea to design the unique fishing house.

Site Condition Analysis

ANALYSIS The project is in Miaoli Country, Taiwan, the site is near the Hong-Lung river, it’s arrived from city hall by fifteen minutes by car. And the building area is more than 10000 m3 so the most important thing is to find to correct location to put the different function. After analysis the site, I used the overlap analysis to considerate the different condition, finally design the function and building mass in the large site. Use low-density cultivation combine Periphery Ecological chain

PLAN Follow the concept to decide the space demand, and organize the different connection in the site, we can separate the three different basic architecture function in the space. And through the pool to connect each other. Into the landscape design, first I according to the Ecological farming data make the 70% water in the site, it's provide mullet farming , Digestion of nitrogen in the water also can that tourist to activity. And the pond water still can separate the production space and living space; it does can still keep the space privacy in this design.

A VERTICAL EXCHANGE 「2014 Elevator Annual Award」」International Designing Competition, Honorable Mention Project in 2014, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro

A number of global mega-cities have a counterpart of unregulated slums. The slum dwellers often provide labor service to the rich part of the city, while urban infrastructure service never comes into the slum communities. This project proposes a reversed exchange to the situation. While in the rich neighborhoods people go to gym to work out, this program collects their physical exercising labor to provide power to a series of elevators. Various forms of vertical transportation are designed to adapt the spatial condition of the slum while the exchange of the power happens underground. The rich provides manual labor for the poor, for a vertical change.

ECO CLASSROOM 「Taoyuan Housing」Designing Competition, Honorable Mention Project in 2015, Taiwan, Taoyuan

17

BACKGROUND Taoyuan

Guanyin District

SITE

Today, agriculture and aquaculture is not prevalent in the past, as a result, Guanyin district transition from an agricultural area into industrial zones. Planning for the northern area due to the economic and trade area, the residents of this area move to this place. Nowadays farming change to industrial society. People become more, so the farming zone changes to housing. The pond become not important in people’s life like before.

Our site is located at Taoyuan, the geography is like mesa. Then the landform is demonstrate northwest to southeast of the elongated. Taoyuan features are had throughout for artificial irrigation from ponds. There are settlements from ponds where is water storage for irrigation, fish leisure, and even for landscape. Guanyin District located at west of Taoyuan. The West of the district on the waterfront, then the population approximately 60 thousand. Guanyin industrial zone had badly efficiency from feeding and fishing, so the area becomes farm zone to industrial zone. Then, have 3 different parts for industry company. Therefore, the resident almost is Hakka people. Coati district is where the earliest development of the region in Guanyin district. The land almost were swamp before, nowadays there are become ponds. Marsh land’s terrain is low-lying, easy to collect water, and then have lot of weeds. And water resistance, low permeability, high content of organic matter, fertilizers for fertilization.

18

ISSUE After realize about the background of Toayuan pond we summarize some of the issue : 1. Social Change: Agricultural Transformation Commercial place. 2. Population increase, industrial and commercial development: The pond will become land to build the building.

2010

3. Industrial pollution: Water pollution. 4. Land for public facilities cannot use: Public ponds useless, then become abandon.

Pond group

School & Pond

2030

CONCEPT After we done the site analysis, we discover the Pond has group. The Pond usually with Community 1~3 Pond with 1 Village. And the Community also with a village School. That school will become abandon, because the child will be less in Thoyaun future years. We tried to make connection with the pond group and the school. First we make every Pond group with 1 Elementary school, Put the activity inside the pond. And Population to expand from ponds. Also put the house and space into the pond to improve the life quality. Provide space for sharing and living paid to the school and the new usage from ponds, recovery of agriculture and aquaculture, to form a new zerocarbon lifestyle. Used the pond ground to make different faction in each other, and put the Wetland plants to remove odor also Use Cattail, Purple and Calla reeds to reduce Nitrogen and phosphorus in water. After complex processing, the resident can have activity in waterfront with clean water.

20 degrees is the ideal tilt for PV panels at this latitude, so, using a roof slope of 20°,is possible to integrate perfectly the PV panels, having the best efficiency An air-gap with two openings to the external air, with different height, allow a natural ventilation inside walls and roof, that divide internal layers from the external layers and protect the firsts from solar heat gains. Also this system is useful to let out the excess humidity. The natural ventilation increase when the window area, from which the air gets in, is the half of the window area from which the air comes out. For this reason we provided the south-windows with an opening part on the top, to have natural ventilation during the hot season, from south.

31

SPACE EXPERIENCE The people in Helsinki they love art & nature, all our design is try to put their original life style back to South Harbor after we removed the south side terminal in harbor we can make more activity happen, the resident activity come to the harbor and tourist also can realize there life style. As a result it can improve the space quality in the coast line. Also strengthen South harbor attractive for tourist.

32

FINAL MODEL In this project we are focus in south side of harbor. after remove the south side terminal, the truck route disappear, so we connect the park to the coastline, and also put the market, store in the middle, we didn’t put too much build mass in south, but we make it's open and green, south side just like a auditorium and, and north side like a stage, people can watch the nice seascape in the beautiful green land.

33

The huge site makes us loss of a sense of space, so we made the model to help us to understand the real scale in design. How people connect in the street and square, and also review the space experience in the human scale.

34

WHERE THE LAND ENDS AND THE SEA BEGINS 「ARKXSITE」Architecture Competition Project in 2015, Portugal Site is locatede in the end of land

CONCEPT The Fortress of Cresmina is located in the Sintra Natural Park where the westernmost point of the mainland Europe, “Cabo do Roca”, is situated. In ancient times, when the Earth was considered flat, this coastline was contemplated as the end of the world. It was believed that it was a non-return point; that beyond that boundary only sea existed.

Create the dead-end feeling in Gallery

With the idea of going back in time and the recreation of a dead-end feeling, the gallery - the main room of the Art Center- was designed. The one way circulation starts with a narrow corridor that leads the user to the sea viewpoint thanks to the natural light at the end of it.

Each viewpoint is built in the direction of a different unexplored continent: The North Pole, North America, Central America and South America. This last one is wider to captivate the public with the fascinating sunset in both summer and winter.

The building has been designed like a compass, all the new walls radiate towards the gravity center of the hexagon formed by the existing walls. Part of the Art Center is outside the limits of the fortress, as a consequence of that, the polyvalent outdoor patio located in the existing walls is generous and contains the terrace café, sculpture garden and the entrance to the venue
