Kit of Parts

Iteration 1 The beginning is always difficult and confusing, but when it is repeated it becomes easier and more enjoyable. It also helps to focus and develop ideas like what’s happening in this project. There are five models from same pieces and different shapes, so this was an amazing challenge. The reason for choosing the fourth model is because it is easier in drawings and detailing. Although the fifth model is the best. This is the first model. It has a triangular roof and space for doors. There is a good space between the roof and the first floor. Although the composition of the pieces was random, its structure looks like a house.

Iteration 2 Spaces and lighting are essential things that are important to consider at the design stage of project. A reason why it is so crucial to know the direction of sunlight to design windows and doors This is the second model. It was created by moving the pieces around to make more complex shape from the first one such as the large piece became at the top and the triangular shape at the bottom. The shape is suitable to be used as office building. There are many openings at the elevations around the model to allow daylight through. In addition, there is a good open space at the ground floor.

Iteration 3 This is the third model. The large piece also is at the top but other pieces were moved around that made the shape looks like spaceship. At the right elevation, the base is in the form of a large triangle, while at the top, the pieces form a small triangle. Beautiful and simple structure that contains suitable spaces and also has place to windows and doors, allow sunlight to enter the space easily.

Iteration 4

This is the fourth model. Used four columns at the ground floor and a balcony at first floor, used the large piece at the opposite side. The shape transformed to a viewing platform. There is a small beam between the two tall columns to stabilize the building. The building has a cantilevered balcony supported by using L shape pieces like beams and floor. On one side there is a piece in the shape of the letter Z to support the piece that is in the shape of an arm. The design of this model has evolved more than the previous models cause of the redundancy process. It can be built close to the sea or farms, so people can use it for surveillance, for example. There are few opening that allow daylight to enter through it.

Iteration 5 This is the fifth model which is the most complex one. The space is suitable for two people to use . It looks like a cottage. The large piece has been used to form the faรงade and used two pieces as beams to support the extended balcony while the base is formed of a rectangle piece. In principle it would be wonderful if this structure would be built on mountain or tourist area. To be used by people for attraction and relaxation when at trip or holidays. It is evident that the work focus on natural lighting, which comes through the gaps between the solid elements and brightens the whole space. This model is considered one of the most suitable designs used so far for several reasons; for instance, the shape is in harmony, uniform and more organized compares to the rest of the models

Fusion 360

The 4 model has been selected to be used in Fusion 360 program. The geometry created using scales to represent the designed model. Rendered with nice materials and background. The program is enjoyable to use, straightforward and easy to learn. It contains many options such as design, add materials, change the background etc. One of the interesting tool is the way forming the building shadow and the control to move it in selected direction. Although modelling using such program is enjoyable, hand design work is important and significant to master. Noticeable there were slight differences with the available pieces given, however it was within acceptable limits.

Reading is important for all ages, As sometimes people need a suitable place to read. This is why the library is the best place for reading. The site is a large park sourounded by houses. Since it is residential area, the building of the library in this place would be usful and benefical.

Sketchbook

There are diffirent ideas and sketches shown in plans, sections, elevations, prespective and axonomatric. Also there are some more details about the project such as the required furniture.

Five model Five models

Iteration 1

The design was created by simple form with a wave - shaped roof. The facade is glass to allow sunlight to enter through, while the walls are red bricks. As for the interior decoration, it contains a simple bookshelf above which there is a reading place. Fantastic two chairs of a circular shape. Inside there are bookshelves hung from the wall. Also there is a long bench and bookshelves under. While at the centre of the library there are two places for sitting that form of a ring and above it few bookshelves can be seen. The place is fun and made suitable for kids as they can lay down and read a book. The design of these chairs gives a beautiful shape and at the same time supports the reader feeling comfortable. There are also bookshelves hanging on the wall. Laminate flooring used as for the colour to be light grey with white walls, while All furniture is black to add a contrast in the colours.

A Floating Wavy Roof Sits Above This Australian House nspired by the undulating hills of the landscape around the site, Seeley Architects designed this family home in Kyneton, Australia, around the idea of creating a connection to the outdoors and fostering a sense of cohabitation with the wildlife in the area. The roof of the home is the most unique detail, featuring a wavy appearance that almost appears to be floating and was designed to mimic the rolling hills surrounding the home. Stone pathways lead to the entrance, the grassy areas, and around the side of the home, while natural vegetation, like the olive trees, have been left in place to allow and encourage the wildlife to interact with the area.

Iteration 2

The structural building is to be constructed using wood, there is a skylight window at the roof of the building in the form of a circular to allow daylight. One of the elevations is shaped like a sail boat. The opposite side is a designed as simple wall with lower elevation. The external is made using glassed facade and location for external door. Inside, there are large circular bookshelves with 3 floors and also contains a reading place and a place for kids. These shelves are open from the top, there is a nice window above them in order to help the place to have natural lighting and comfortable for reading. There is also place for books and reading designed with Zigzag shape. On the other side, there is some large bookshelves. The floor is covered with beige carpets so that it is comfortable when readers or kids sit on the floor, while the walls are white painted. The furniture colour is mainly brown. The reason for using light colours for small places is to give the feeling of large area.

Church of 2000 / Richard Meier & Partners The importance of this project is to give value and attraction to the deepest and most far suburbs in Rome; the occasion came with the beginning of the new Millennium. The Vicariato of Rome (diocese of Rome’s Bishop, the Pope) committed this work to show and highlight the basic role that architecture plays in holy and religious spaces, and to demonstrate that the connection with contemporary architecture is the key to improve quality of life in suburban areas. These were the goals that the project had to face. Richard Meier’s project won the international competition in 1996.

Iteration 3

This building is made of structural steel, and its roof is convex in shape looks like Oscar Niemeyer’s Museum, but the structure of the building is in the form of a ship. Four wonderful boxes hung on the walls are intended for seating. There are windows located between the two boxes. Long windows are located at the top of each elevation. This design increases the width of the place. Adding simple touches to the design makes people attracted to it. As shown in the model the shape of chairs enhances the reader’s enjoyment. Inside, there are two bookshelves with simple structure in the middle of the library. There is also a passage between them to facilitate the movement of users. The floor is designed as ceramic tiles that provide the place luxury and beauty.

Oscar Niemeyer’s Museum – Curitiba (PR)

Oscar Niemeyer’s Museum (MON) is located in the city of Curitiba, in the state of Paraná, south of Brazil. It was inaugurated in 2002 with the name Novo Museu or New Museum. With the conclusion of remodeling and the construction of a new annex, it was reinaugurated on July 8, 2003, with the current denomination to honor its famous architect who completed this project at 95 years of age. It is also known as Museu do Olho or Museum of the Eye, due to the design of the building. The museum features many of Niemeyer’s signature elements: bold The museum features many of Niemeyer’s signature elements: bold geometric forms, sculptural curved volumes placed prominently to contrast with rectangular volumes, sinuous ramps for pedestrians, large areas of white-painted concrete, and areas with vivid murals or paintings. A collaborator previously on Ibirapuera Park with landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, Niemeyer’s namesake museum is also within a garden designed by Burle Marx, and that within 144 thousand square meters of woodland. Though rooted in modern architecture since his involvement in the international style, Niemeyer’s designs have much in common with postmodern architecture as well and this is as contemporary a building as the artwork it displays.

Its wavy shape, despite its simplicity but complex structure. Building materials are reinforced concrete and glass. This design is modern and elegant and allows sunlight to enter through. The idea is similar to Hualien Residence / BIG building shown, but there are some minor changes. The interior is simple, two bookshelves, one and a half meters high, with a seating area and T-shaped books. Laminate flooring use as for the colour to be white with light blue. This building suits the cool colours because it is surrounded by large windows from everywhere and its place is in a garden all of which are trees and green.

Hualien Residence / BIG “has completed its first home outside of Hualien City on Taiwan’s East Coast. The striated vacation housing project,

built to resemble “Taiwan’s spine of mountains to the west,” is being developed by the Taiwan Land Development Corporation as a dense new neighborhood that “preserves and enhances the beauty of the surrounding nature” and offers “an active and social lifestyle outside the city.” The first model unit to complete, the 1000-square-meter home provides a first-hand look into life at the Hualien Residences with custom furniture designed by KiBiSi and an efficient layout shaped by the distinct narrow floor plate covered in vegetation that plays into the development’s overarching “folding hill structure.” Arch Daily . Iteration 5

I It is splendid geometrical shape with steel columns at all building elevations. The boundary walls of the building are designed using glass due to its location in the middle of nature. It gives a nice feeling to the reader, also provides daylight. The interior design is simple and suitable for the building area. The bookshelves are in the form of serial triangles located in the middle of the library looks like A building “The wave in Vejle. Three large seats with a small table that can move, in order to help the reader to place a book or computer located on the sides of the library. There is good space between the bookshelves and the benches to facilitate the movement of people. The idea is taken from this building shown in the figure 7 while the design idea is similar to the Golden Gate bridge style. The floor is wood, commensurate with the beauty of the nature surrounding the building.

Golden Gate Bridge: A suspension bridge with a unique structure. It also considered to be the longest bridge in the world until 1964. As it connects the city of San Francisco with Marin county. It is 2737 meters long and 227 meters high. The material used for construction is steel. Its construction began in 1933, and it was completed in 1937. Designed and Architect by Joseph Strauss, Irving Morrow and Charles Elis. (Golden Gate Bridge - History and Facts about Golden Gate Bridge,2021)

The wave in Vejle: by Henning Larsen architects Danish Henning Larsen architects have received the LEAF award – the residential building of the year 2010 in the sub-category ‘multiple occupancies’ for their project ‘the wave in Vejle’. ‘the wave in Vejle’ is a new sculptural housing landmark of Vejle, Denmark. with an ideal location overlooking the promenade and the bay the characteristic building both respects and challenges the potential of the area. The wave is inspired by the characteristics of the area: the fjord, the bridge, the town, and the hills. the clear and easily recognizable signature of the building connects the residential area with the sea, the landscape, and the town.
