Submitted by Staff Member Jak Carroll

A traditional Australian recipe dating back from 1922 when Vegemite was invented. It is a dish commonly served to school children for lunch. It tastes bloody great!

Ingredients

2 slices of bread (any type) 1 jar Vegemite 1 serving of butter

Directions

1

Spread butter thinly over both slices of bread (one side only).

2

Spread Vegemite generously over buttered bread.

3

Place one slice of bread on top of the other slice to form a sandwich.

4

For formal occasions, garnish with Smith’s potato chips.
