Advertising in FLY LINES is to underwrite the cost associated with the design, production and distribution of the BCFFF official eJournal, which is published on a quarterly basis to reflect the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter seasons of fly fishing. Please refer to the page flip version of the Spring–Summer 2010 issue of FLY LINES posted online, which illustrates the design and layout of this web-based publication.

All efforts will be made to ensure that the above dates are maintained, however, the BCFFF reserves the right to adjust the publication and closing dates from time to time and will advise all advertisers of any pending changes.

Fly Fishers’ Source Profile Each issue of FLY LINES will profile a shop, supplier or fishing guide who caters to the dedicated fly fisher. Copywriting services to prepare the article can be provided. Cost to be featured in FLY LINES is $750. The shop, supplier or fishing guide must order an A4 or A5 ad; ad cost is included in noted rate. A larger ad format may be chosen… cost of a larger format ad would be extra. The combination of article with ad will provide maximum exposure. Interested parties should contact the Editor to make arrangements for a profile and an interview by phone and/or at their place of business.

Payment for Advertising A 50% deposit at the time ad is ordered; the balance of payment, due on publishing of the specific issue. The BCFFF will accept cash or cheque(s) made payable to‌ BC Federation of Fly Fishers Advertising preordered on an annual basis will be charged at a volume discounted rate (noted cost less 10%). Payment for advertising placed on this basis must be accompanied by postdated cheques covering the full cost of advertising for the year. In the future, an account will be set up for advertisers wishing to place ads on an annual basis. Please let us know if you wish to place ads annually.

Future Directions

NLINE ADVERTISING on the BCFFF web site, to complement digital ads placed in FLY LINES, is being explored. As the Federation’s web site is slated for redevelopment at some point during 2011, information will be provided when it is available.

With FLY LINES moving to a web-based publication that is read online, real time, having a presence on the BCFFF web site as well would be a great way to connect with fly fishers who visit www.BCFFF.bc.ca looking for information. Whether it’s digital ads in FLY LINES or on the BCFFF web site, the Federation will be able to provide you with marketing metrics on pages viewed, links followed and click rates to assist you with measuring reader response to your advertising. Expanding the distribution of FLY LINES to include a broader readership that includes British Columbia, the rest of Canada and other countries around the globe is also being explored.
