This project is all about having a place for students from the design school to accumulate after or between classes. To have a bite to eat, meet friends, and relax and take a breather before getting back to the busy student life. A giant walk in fountain will help give a since of serenity and coolness from the heat.

Fabric

This building was designed for a new and inovative non profit called Fabric that helps fashion designers fullfill there dreams. This company gives designers a plave to come and try out there ideas. to creat there designs as well as get help starting off there own business. The building has a fashion show rrom to hold events and help raise money for this non profit organization. They have a spatious maker space that allows designers to create there ideas. there is also retail space that can be rented out for people looking to sell there ideas on there own while also being close enough to get advice and help from Fabric.

Concept: Subtraction, revealing, Expose, Cutting away All these runway outfits would be normal everyday dresses and outfits except pieces have been cut out, or cut off and reformed to make it more unique and abnormal. That is my plan for my building by cutting out pieces to make it unique and abnormal compared to a normal square building. After all the entire point of the building is to hold new creative ideas and to create, make, show and sell new designs. So, the building should hold the same ideals and be new and unique to show that this is not just a normal clothing store but so much more. View from above

Light effect

The Sun in the South comes in to the long narrow windowed and hit these colored walls that are painted the deferent colors of the desert; Green, red, orange, blue, and yellow. once the sun hits these colored walls and then reflects those colors into the sanctuary space.

Acoustics

Floor plan perspective

section cut

The walls are angled so that the sound waves from the front of the room will not bounce more then once before they reach the ears of the people in the pews. It is also angled so that no sound waves will ever get trapped between the window and the wall, so that no sound will reach the peoples ears late. The ceiling has this effect as well.

Student Union

This project is set in ASU’s Polytechnic campus. This project has a lowered garden space that helps match it with the rest of campus. Each building on campus uses similar materials and does well in creating a desert aesthetic for outdoor space for students and staff to enjoy. This knew student union is created to match the rest of campus while also standing uniquely on its own. Each space is designed to have great views of its outdoor space while also having in mind the harsh climate sun. Vertical surfaces of the building has been studied and have various shade and screen structures to protect from the sun while also giving windiws to views that will help peopl e enjoy each space.
