The new building leans on the natural podium of a one-hectare virgin olive grove with 108 perfectly rectangular shape, dominating the surrounding land. The villa is characterized by a rigid stereometry of pure and white shapes and stands out in the twisted and absolute landscape of the olive tree. The villa is experienced through an inevitable path that gradually approaches the site crossing the entire lot to reveal humanized nature only at the very end. The composition of the building explicitly announces the hierarchy of functions and their mutual relation in space: the cube contains the living area of the villa and intersects the low oblong prism of the sleeping area. The two volumes are slightly rotated each other to embrace one of the largest trees, which is the center of an open terrace, the main relational

PATIO HOUSES | Milan
Architectural Concept Design Architectural Schematic Design Architectural Detailed Design Site Supervision
The intervention is part of a process of urban regeneration of a courtyard in a typical block of the residential suburbs of south-east Milan. The existing building was a car repairing shop building with a vaulted roof. ground and one underground and is generated by an alternation of solids and voids, which allows the new housing units to face exclusively on private patios. This choice allows to create a building with an urban character that, at the same time, manages to give each unit an intimate and domestic dimension. Access to individual villas is via a common walkway illuminated by a natural light coming from voids located in the roof, between the units. The south-east facades are characterized by a combination of glazed elements and wooden panels that modulate the need for sunlight and privacy. The north-west facades instead, facing the existing buildings, are blind and compact, the only source of light is constituted by long and narrow windows. The patio is the spatial organization of the house and a natural extension of the domestic environment. Here the boundary between outdoor and indoor becomes a space to be inhabited, in which man establishes a private and privileged dialogue with nature.

land high above the sea level, it has open vistas on the city. The design aims to resolve a mixed program dense and sloping terrain. We obatined this using two different methods: adapting the commercial functions to the topography and arranging the residential units by typological blocks stacked to form three towers. The podium unfolds in a sequence of aslope surfaces in which the commercial activities are carved out. The roof alternates hardscape and sofstcape that houses facilities and amenities for residents and acts as connective tissue between the parts and with the city. Three towers rise from it, each made of three distinct residential blocks, from bottom to top: “terrace apartments” with a perimeter of habitable loggias, “greenhouse apartments” with modular greenhouses that function as winter gardens, and “studio apartments” with a dynamic facade that

Vertical Forest is a project for metropolitan reforestation that contributes to the regeneration of environment and urban biodiversity without the implication of expanding the city upon the territory and thus proposes to build high density towers within the city. These two 80 and 112 meters high two towers are located in the Porta Nuova – Isola district of Milan, able to accommodate 480 large and medium height trees and 250 small-sized trees. We attributed the Orchid to the entrance the building and host facilities and amenities that are also open to outside visitors. The lobby space is outlined by simple elements, absolute artifacts in the forms and materials combined with natural elements such as water and vegetation, which together evoke a sense of calm of a restorative humanized nature. The decoration of the apartments is a meeting of cultures, a balanced combination of classic and western contemporary elements with oriental notes especially in the accessories and color choices.

A seven-story building in a new strategic area of Jiangsu province, it was conceived as a commercial venue by the developer in early 2015. The requirement was to create a versatile commercial venue where brands will be able to provide customers with fun, unique and in-person experiences that elevate shopping to new heights. We teamed up with the client to craft a new ambitious program that could go beyond the initial premise: a location where art, design culture, training and fashion converge. A place where customers

The main idea of the project is to preserve the archaeological ruins of the area by adding a new ruin, to incorporate most of the functions requested by the the program and build light structures in the surrounding park. The backbone of the project is a linear building that emerges from the ground to reveal its presence in three spots: the 5-star Hotel which stands as the main entrance to the area, follows up the Institute where the old military walls are located and ends with a 4-star Rural Hotel jutting on the natural slope of the park. In this way, the axle is torn from the ground and transformed into a promenade that completes the walkways grid system as a landscape corridor.
