OUR COVENANT FOR CHRIST 2015 First Methodist Houston
I would like to give $______________ to support the 2015 General Ministries: each week each month each year
First Methodist is changing lives across the city of Houston and around the world! Each year, we invite the people who are a part of the First Methodist family to help fund the important work God is doing. Financial giving is a key part of our lives as Christians: to give back to God and make a difference for Him, even as He has given to us. When we do, just like the little boy who offered his loves and fish to Jesus, we believe that God will bless and multiply every gift for the glory of His Kingdom–and bless the givers! Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring the full tithe (tenth) into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” The simple message here is that we’ve all been given much by God. As an act of love for God as well as obedience to His will, we are to be generous and willingly share the blessings we have received. When we share, we make possible the spread of the Gospel to every part of the world, we strengthen our great church, we please God, and we open our own lives to further blessing and deeper fellowship with Him.
